Will warlocks be an overpowered class? Because from what I've seen they have a machine gun type weapon a bot and magical abilities. Give your opinion or explain which class you think will be overpowered.

I really don't think they will be any overpower class Bungie did a fantastic job balancing weapons and armor abilities (exception Armor Lock) in the Halo Series from Halo: Combat Evolved to Halo: Reach so I hope they do that epic balancing job with Destiny. I think each class will have their own specialty that'll create a sort of rock-paper-scissors system between the classes so there won't be "the one good one." It might just seem the Warlock is OP because, so far, it's the class we know the most about right now. Who knows, maybe the Hunters can go invisible or the Titans have some kind of temporary invincibility or insane shielding buff of some kind. Too early to say, sadly. Here's hoping more info gets doled out at GDC next month . . .

1 ReplyAs stated earlier, it's way too early to discuss the OPness of a class. And then again, I can imagine that some classes might have an advantage in a pure 1v1 face-off, but in a team match I'm sure that every class will have it's advantages, disadvantages, some might be more balanced and everyone will have it's own purpose and be usefull in it's own way. (For exemple, if a class could get enemy position intel that will give an advantage and even the possibility for less skilled players to get kills on stronger ones, which also makes him important, even when he isn't the one getting the kills). On top of that, this game is still a FPS and requires a players own skills.

isnt that jst a smg? like for when he uses all his abilities for a time? i mean it looks like a smg to me, and if your that close then your probably already on fire or frosted. And yes there are talks ofthe vanguard class and possibly an unannounced 5th class.

I like how you used the title as your own OP, rather than using the space dedicated for it. You haven't even played it and you're already speculating which class will be overpowered based purely on concept art.

4 RepliesI'm betting the warlock will be a support type class. Healing, stat damage, damage overtime (fire, frost, etc.), etc. Hunter is a sniper. Titan is the main offensive class. Vanguard may be another support class but not exactly combat based (destroying/fixing vehicles, indirect explosives like mines/C4, etc.)

What if hunters only get their weapons but they get more weapon damage which is balanced to counter the warlock's abilities? I'm pretty sure the classes will be balanced stop being such a 12-16 year old and learn game design or something.

3 RepliesI think warlock will be a very powerful class but i think all 3 classes will be essentially all powerful. We can't just assume that just because he has magic he's going to start OP-ing everyone thats just not the case. Although i will be a warlock when the game comes out.

The one with Armour Lock is OP. Camo was useless and sprint was for the MLG players.
