Obviously there are a lot of these threads out there, but I wanted to start one where other web developers could share their thoughts on the site!
I think its great. Yes completely different, but the whole look is clean and modern. The bar at the top, and the icons are all pretty sweet. The general look is very modern, and conforms well to the whole HTML5, and CSS3 scene.
Very nice. Definitely going to be looking into parts of the site here when I get on to my next project :D
I think the word beta really fits into the current situation, but the forums seem better than other more "social" approaches I have seen. The style reminds me the one used for Halo: Reach's subsite on the old website, the way that transparency is treated and the modern look clearly is an evolution from that one.
I wonder how Destiny's online services will look on Bungie.net.
Note: A small overlooked detail is that in case Bungie.net will have localization then it should have on its <html> tag the current language declared and the encoding that is used. The latter is declared as UTF-8, but on the en-US forums the language isn't specified in the <html> tag.
I also think the whole directory structure is a little messy. There are many ways on how it should be more clean for coding and even for the sake of whatever runs in the background.
Oh and large parts of Javascript and CSS code aren't minified.
