  • He wants to know why some of the most educated people in America still follow a deity, and that's a valid point. If some of the smartest people follow a deity, there has to be [i]some sense[/i] to it, otherwise they wouldn't be following it either.

  • At that level of science, the choice to believe in a deity is essentially a coin flip. The answer is irrelevant, so you just choose a side. For example, I believe that the beginning of the universe was a direct result of concious action. That's the extent of my belief. The difference between and atheist and my personal brand of deism is two letters (unconcious).
