Marathon 2: Durandal Video walkthrough-ish thingy [COMPLETED]
Well, the old adage goes that a picture is worth a thousand words. So I was thinking about doing some movies of Durandal to help people out. So how much is a movie worth? Recon's mum says hers are worth $19.99 for each vid with a option to cancel at any time. I think I'll make my walk through vids for free...
Alright, I know that Durandal can be a little confusing sometimes, and it's easy to get lost amongst the bright shiny Marathon goodness. So while I was playing today, I took the time to record everything. Typically the vids only show the quickest ways to get through the levels. They are by NO means complete walk-throughs. However, if you happen to get stuck on a certain part, come to this thread and download the chapter you need help with and maybe you'll find what you need.

Well as some of you may know that Mythica, the site I was using to host these videos went down a few months ago. So while I was at PAX this past weekend I ran into Louis Wu of Halo.Bungie.Org fame and asked about if he was able to salvage them before Mythica went under. He said he did, and so here they are!!!
All links should work 100% fine now. If you get a problem, feel free to post in the thread and I'll see what's going on. I downloaded the 1st and Last vid and both worked fine so I'm hoping the rest are the same.[/b][/i][/u]

Are you going to find a different hosting site no that mythica is going down? You might want to email Louis Wu and see if he can host them on files.mythica.org, since useruploads is going down. -MAZ

[/quote] Yeah, Achilles broke the bad news to me about Mythica yesterday. I'll see if I can contact the WU! and see if he wouldn't mind hosting them. I'd be very appreciative even though I've had a pretty good run with them since I've released them. I didn't think so many people would be downloading them, but it really has been pretty spectacular. During my time off, I tried contacting Louis Wu over at HBO to see if they wouldn't mind hosting the vids. He said he would try but as far as I know nothing has become of it. I'll try getting ahold of him again and see what the status is. I do want to say thanks again to Mythica for all the time and effort they put into having a free place to host and upload vids. I used them for a couple montages as well as this Marathon walkthrough. They did a very great service to the Halo community and should be commended for it! ~B.B.

Will is still get the for the win achievement if I happen to skip a level I think I will, but what do you think? I mean I went through them so fast I didn't get to see the names of the levels oh well, it sure was fun and hard at times. Thanks a bunch.

NVM, I got the achievement, thank goodness, it sure was fun and tough to find my way at times, but I always will figure the way out of the way out of the level just takes me awhile to do so, darn it. I still like the game though.

I am stuck on "Kill your Television". Sadly with Mythica down I am SOL. If any one can give me some help/tips/pointers on this level I would appreciate it so much.

On this level, you need to activate 2 "generators" (what I like to call them). You flip a switch near them to lower the water and then flip a switch to turn on the "generators" that start glowing green. You've done this process the past couple chapters. Alright. when you start out, you need to swim up to the top level, and go to the opposite corner, and swim back down. If you head north you'll come to an area that looks very similar to where you start. There is one corner that has a "dark" panel that opens to an elevator to the top level. Go up there and walk all around. Eventually you'll come to some ammo and a hallway that leads to the outer "shell" of that upper level. If you head north on this outer "shell" you'll wrap around and find the TOZT-7 flamethrower (a personal favorite). Head down the hallway near it and it will lead to your first generator. After activating it, go back to where you found the flamethrower and fall back down into the water. Swim south by southwest and then swim up till you see an area filled up with water but you can see a switch(marked "C2" on that map link) just above the water level. Activate the switch by shooting it or grenading it (DON'T be in the water to activate it) This switch transfers the water to the other area and now you can access a health spot, oxygen spot and the way to the 2nd generator (marked "C1" on that map link). Activate the 2nd "generator" and find the terminal that is basically located under water between the 3 areas. Thanks for re-posting that for me Yuke. I'll have to get on Achilles to re-upload those other vids. Which might be hard since he's sold his soul to GTA4 right now. Kill your Television and 10,000 Feet Under are probably some of the most confusing levels in M2:D. Although a lot of the levels are pretty complex. Nice to see some people are still taking the time to play some classic Bungie goodness. ~B.B.

Well done! Though the Spoiler Guide is still online, a map and some text aren't quite as thorough. Of course, it may spoil it a bit less. Meh *shrug*. Durandal is not confusing. There is meaning to everything he says. Just pretend you're reading a book with an unreliable narrator not playing a video game... Or don't, that's just my reason to keep playing.... and playing.... and more...
