Palpatine himself gained the ability to unleash a force storm the size of a system that destroyed entire fleets. There's force powers that also have the ability to instantly drive an enemy insane. Hell, they also could easily wipe out the flood with the force. Meanwhile, the Forerunners got their asses handed to them. The only tricky thing would be the Precursors, and those would wreak havoc but eventually fall.
