....can anybody bother explaining this to me?
What I am fixing to say might be controversial.
I do not support any type of war, thus how exactly can I support troops? In the military they break down your individuality and mold you to become one of them, ending your critical thinking and brainwashing you to whatever they need you to be, to fight in some pointless war that makes no sense. Why would I support the brainless indoctrination of thousands of people?
I have respect for people in the military, I mean it's not easy choosing a career like that, and no doubt the conditions are tough and you could put your life at risk. I feel sad when I see soldiers funerals and stuff.
I just simply...don't support what they do, at all. I do not support the war, and they are contributing to it, therefore I do not support them.
Living in south texas this opinion is obviously very frowned upon. Just wondering if some of you see my point?

It means "I love the troops, but not the war they're fighting in." I agree with that. I love our boys. I don't see the point of being in Afghanistan, it's a waste of American lives. Afghanistan can't even hurt us. Are thousands of American soldiers worth democracy in a country which doesn't even matter to most of us? It doesn't seem rational to me. We should just pull out of that entire region, pull out all of our embassies and just get the heck out of there.
