So I was talking with a fellow member about the whole Flood conflict, both with Ancient Humanity and the Forerunners and how the Flood/Precursors returning to the Galaxy may be the ancient evil promoted for the Reclaimer Trilogy. Anyways, the convo eventually lead to the Flood on the Halo's and to the Flood that were already released and fighting the Sentinels within the Sentinel Wall.
I think I heard something about this being explained or hinted towards somewhere, but I can't remember. Does anyone know how exactly the Flood were already fighting the Sentinels on Delta Halo? Where did the mass come from to sustain them on the ring?
Thanks.
Posted by: ajw34307
Posted by: Wolverfrog It's possible (and even likely) that another species found Installation 05 long before Regret's fleet arrived. 343 says he's seen Meddlers before, and the Terminals in CEA showed us a race was space-faring only 60,000 years after the Halo event.
Spark also says that there seemed to be a number of other ships in the system receiving the broadcast from the crashed one, IIRC. And I think in Terminal 4 Spark says that he received "perplexing" transmissions from 2401 Penitent Tangent. While I'm sure that this is just a reference to PT's descent into rampancy, it would be cool if these ships were deployed to 'jailbreak' the Flood from the Halos, so to speak.
Could the ship we see get shot and taken down when we descend and exit the Sentinel Wall, and later cross through to reach The Library, be one of said ships?
