Girl Tweets Shortly Before Kidnapping

I figured I would share this story posted by our wonderful friends at 4chan. Not really sure what to think of this. Makes me feel...eerie knowing that if this is real it was out there. What are your thoughts Flood? [Edited on 09.30.2012 9:21 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: MURDUR 587
Posted by: Black Eagle X99 Imagine this. You're in your room. iPod is next to you. You hear your front door unlock and open suddenly, ecen though you're home alone. Your phone is on the other side of the room. Do you: A.Tweet fast, as you try to hide in your closet B.Try to get your phone and dial 911, leaving no chance to hide I wonder.
Tweeting the scenario is just as effective as throwing poop out the window hoping a neighbour sees it and suspects something's wrong. Ideally you should try to get out the house as quickly as possible, barring that you should call the police, barring that you shouldn't use your phone (it's far more likely she tweeted with a phone rather than a ipod) to tweet the scenario! It would be far more effective to either text or tweet someone specifically rather than just ambiguously throwing it out there, no one knows whether they should take responsibility or whether or not it's even serious. Most people get a weapon and call the police as quickly as possible. I mean damn, her twitter followers might not even know where she lives, she didn't even put her zip code in at the end of the message.
Most teenage girls who use twitter are followed exclusively by people who go to her school, so that zip code bit is irrelevant. As for texting someone specific, well, what if that person can't respond? Or is asleep, as this was at nighttime (wasn't it?). And on the poop note, you're just way off. She's specifically telling people the situation and telling them what to do. Poop-throwing equivalency would be reached if she had sent out a tweet of gibberish and hoped people understood and called the cops. And finally, once again, calling requires you to make noise, something you don't want to do if hiding from someone.
