Whenever I play halo I wonder...
I see marines get killed or a frigate get shot down and I think to myself "How many marines/frigates, can the UNSC afford to lose? Are there even any soldiers or ships to adequately replace this? can they even afford to suffer these casualties?"
Know what I mean?
UNSC gets casualties and I think, "How many more do we have to replace that?" or "These guys are dead is that it?"
I ask this because of the huge losses the unsc took against the covenant already

There are factories which supply their marines. During the Scarab battle on The Storm, marines will constantly come outside of a room to operate the missile pods if you kill them. During the warehouse battles, if you kill all your marines, at some point, you'll get an infinite supply of them. And of course, you encounter as many as 40 marines on the level. The Storm clearly shows that the UNSC were not losing; they were just letting you carry them to victory. That's why most of them don't even follow you through the warehouse. But to be serious, I'm sure they're all valued. I've had many instances where one marine decides to go total badass and wrecks the Covenant. Why would I want to lose him?
