Whenever I play halo I wonder...
I see marines get killed or a frigate get shot down and I think to myself "How many marines/frigates, can the UNSC afford to lose? Are there even any soldiers or ships to adequately replace this? can they even afford to suffer these casualties?"
Know what I mean?
UNSC gets casualties and I think, "How many more do we have to replace that?" or "These guys are dead is that it?"
I ask this because of the huge losses the unsc took against the covenant already
Posted by: MongotheRed I think humanity numbered in the trillions, or at least the hundreds of billions. So they could probably afford to lose a LOT of soldiers.
You are probably right about the numbers, but think about it. The majority of those people were likely Glassed. I think, say in Halo 3, they were just gathering scraps of soldiers together. They didn't really have any specified units. So whoever died it was just an unfortunate loss really. The war ceased at the end of Halo 3 so anybody who died was really just buying time in a way.
