Halo 2 Playlist Update & Stat Reset
Tonight is the night for the long awaited Halo 2 Xbox Live Matchmaking Playlist update and ranking reset. Tombstone and Desolation will be required for some of the playlists and if you purchased them before Monday, 5/7, you will need to download them again before you can play online. Both maps will become free in early July.

Just wondering I don't understand why they removed Rumble pit. It was the only game that you could go into and not worry about having someone bad on your team or a loser that deranks. Personally i was good at it and i really enjoyed it. Now its pointless to play it, if i wanted to play unranked there was rumble training. I'm just very dissapointed.

this is crap i cant download maps coz of expired credit card coz i cant delete first card i used so now i cant play matchmakin untill i run out of membership or unless i format my hard drive WTF wos the point in doin that

cool new maps in match making but no ones going to buy even tho there 5 bucks halo isnt as big as it was last year all the modders and standbyers where praticly gone now with the new ranks everones a lv 1 i just hope i dont loose lv or have to deal with moders even tho people are on 360 and no one wants to spend mad money for lv 50 u never no tho

Well as I'd been stating, The maps had to become free for legual reasons. As for the map updaters needing re-download, I had stated to so we're in buisness, although it's still pretty -blam!- that nobody tested the maps to notice invisible walls everywhere and also that they waited until everyone paid for the map to announce they'D become free.Oh and Lochnivar, I deeply support your opinion on the selling out. Long time Lurker First time poster - Been playing Halo ever since it first came out, even have Spartan 117 tattooed across my back - Im an UberFan. I felt I had to log on here and make a post because I am saddened by the change in Bungie since Microsoft got it's claws into them. You've sold out guys, first you screw us over maps (no real biggy but I cant think of any other form of transaction where you pay for something you never get and then get whinged at for complaining), now you screw us on the playlists. I can't think of one person who genuinely thinks that the changes to the matchmaking/playlists is a 'change for good'. You are trying to slowly kill off Halo 2 in order to rollout Halo 3, it's blatant and frankly shows that what was once a group of people who made these games with passion, vision, commitment and pride have been whittled down to money grabbing industry sellouts. I believe that the halo gurus who started all this are still there but unfortunately their voices aren't as loud as the plethora of brutish microsoft corporate bods with grey suits and plasma swords ensuring that the prophets almighty milestones and marketing strategies are adhered to. Time to Cowboy the *blam* up Bungie....Stay true to what you started and 'Finish The Fight'. p.s. (I appreciate that you've gotta do what you're told by the Demon that is MicroSoft as contracts have been signed **In some cases in blood** and given that you wouldn't have those kosher pads down by the beach with 50 inch HD LCD teles and poledancing UAT testers sent in specially from the Silicon Valley 'Training Camp' aka the Hive Mind) p.p.s (if you do have poledancing UAT hotties strutting their stuff then I cant blame you for selling out, I'd have signed the dotted line straight away but the least you could do is share the wealth with the lonely, sullen faced, socially inept, level 30+ crew of Halo devotees that sold their chances of seeing a real live woman naked for the ability to pull of a strafing headshot after 5 pints of a guinness and a dodgy kebab). Why did Bungie make BTB unranked? At least make it ranked for the dedicated fans, or keep BTB Skirmish and BTB Slayer separate. It seems like everytime Bungie messes with the playlists, ranked BTB always gets messed with. Leave ranked BTB alone!

Still got the same problem.... I got a Gold acc. via XboxLiveCode-Card.... without any CreditCard-Data. But I got an old silver Acc. with CreditCard information... So BEFOR the "Bugfix" I downloaded the new Maps with my SilverAcc and PAYED FOR THEM! It looks like right now, since the "Bugfix" i couldn´t download the maps again with my SilverAcc..... Could it be, that you only "fixed" the problem with the unpaid downloads like this: You "banned" all the SilverAcc from the Halo2 content-Download server?????? How should i get the Maps now????

I'm not angry like you are (Like I said, it's only $4), but I do take slight issue with the principal of the matter. We jumped through all these hoops and stood by patiently (Some not so patiently) through the whole downloading ordeal, gave our money for a product; And then as soon as the smoke starts to clear, Bungie says, "Oh by the way, this product will be free in under 2 months". In the end, I'd rather have the maps widely available (Especially since they'll be in MM), so the free part is a good thing. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I think it was a poor business decision to announce that the maps will be free right after a bunch of people paid for them and had a lot of troubles getting them (A small portion of the crowd still doesn't have them because they are unable to get them). It would have been much wiser to just release the maps for free in July with nothing but a brief little nod in the news. All of us customers who went through the purchase/download ordeal wouldn't be contemplating exactly what it [i]is[/i] (and isn't) that we bought... When the maps were announced, the downloads were sold as "$4 for 2 new maps". After the announcement that they'll be free in July, that description changed to "$4 for the chance to play 2 new maps for 2 months before they are available for free". That first product is something that almost every H2 player would want and pay for. The second product is something that a lot of (But not all) H2 players would pay for. In either case, it's not a huge deal. I'm glad the maps were made and really appreciate Bungie's hard work to help get them to our consoles. With all the other stuff going on there, I'm sure a lot of people had a rough 2 weeks getting this working.

The downloads still are not working correctly. I tried again last nigt after the new dashboard download. Once again, I get the download failed error message. This make me very glad I'm not going to even try the Halo 3 Beta....

I've noticed that with the stat reset we didn't lose our total games played, kills, deaths, K/D ratio, etc. Can someone explain this please? Are they only doing a limited reset strictly on our levels and experience?

in an earlier update they explained they fixed the new maps and you have to redownload them. If you already purchased them it wont charge you anything. The fix stopped the inviable walls and the super bounces. Just redownload the maps just like you did the first time.

Speaking of map -blam!- ups. Has anyone else had this problem? I download my maps a few weeks ago, get the update. Go to play matchmaking, and it says I'm missing maps needed? What should I do?
