Sounds to me like you have classic stockholm syndrome, You're defending your bully.
He may have helped YOU, but that does not or ever will JUSTIFY his bullying.
With your logic, all victims of bullying should accept what is happening to them and improve on what the bully harasses them about instead of stopping the bully by knocking them the -blam!- out and taking a stand or getting a parent/teacher involved.
It's no surprise that most bullies tend to be sociopathic. We shouldn't encourage sociopaths like you're suggesting.
