Unless the control scheme is configurable, its gonna be Recon for me. I've been playing Halo with pretty much the same layout for nearly 9 years now, and I'm more than just [i][b]used[/i][/b] to it... its a part of me, embedded into my muscle reflexes forever. As for the more important content of the update, I must say I'm totally stoked for the Beta. Unfortunately I missed the Halo 3 Beta all those years ago, but this time around my buddies and I are planning on bringing fire and death to the land of Xbox Live all night every night until it closes. Bromance shall be in the air as we fire-team it up (a concept that reminds me of Battlefield games, a great addition btw) through hordes of squidhead freaks in Invasion. Oh, Invasion. That looks, in a word: epic. The concept is vaguely similar to modes of play from many recent games, where you have to hold of an invading forces of Alien Army Space Guys, but the difference (and its and awesome difference) is that the invading hordes of conquering Aliens aren't predictable bots, but living players (who may or may not be predictable). The phases that unlock more and better loadouts and vehicles is great as well, I think it will add a lot on intensity to the gameplay. I can imagine, as a poor, out-matched Spartan, waiting two minutes or so for the next phase to unlock, so that I could get maybe a chance to hold of the evil Elites. Its gonna be fantastic. (I'd say 'awesome' but... no. No.) And when it comes to game editions, I've already pre-ordered my sexy Legendary. Don't worry haters: I will flaunt to the best of my ability my fantabulous flaming helmet, so get your expletives ready. But really, its not that, or even the statue that sealed my purchase of the best of the best (though it is incredible, <3 McFarlane)- its that Dr. Halsey stuff. You see, I'm not just a kickass Halo player- I'm an avid Halo fanboy, and I have been since I was 8 years old. I've ready every novel, flipped through every comic and graphic novel, watched every VidDoc and Halo Legends episode... I pride myself on knowing as much there is to know about Halo without reading the Game Bible. So the addition of never-before-seen content makes me shiver with antici... [i][b]pation[/i][/b]. So all in all, what I'm trying to say through this wall of text is that I am immensely excited for what will undoubtedly be the best game by the best developer, and probably the best game of 2010 hands down. <3 you Bungie.
