Posted by: CAVX I really do love you, Bungie, but I'm tired of learning new FPS control schemes. I loved your use of the bumpers in Halo 3. I'd be interested to know why the default is the way it is...you guys kind of glazed right over any explanation of that in this update. I suppose I could understand armor abilities as the left bumper function since it's no longer just a "throw and go" thing, but I think a general explanation might be nice in a future update. Also, I really hope there are only like 50 people who get a flaming helmet because otherwise it's going to get really annoying. Sorry for sounding like a pessimist. Reading the rest of that update got me really excited and ready to enjoy the beta! But those two bullet points above just kind of made me nervous.
On the topic of controls, Halo reach is very different from Halo 3 (or any halo game), so I completely understand why a new controls must be made up for it. And to be honest, the new controls look fantastic. I love the new Green Thumb controls. I've been using it since I've started playing Halo (was it even in Halo CE?) and have never looked back. The fact that zoom is now on the bumpers (shoulder buttons) in Halo Reach, makes me even more happy since I try to snipe from as far away as possible or try beat them down at point blank range. Another thing that I've been wishing in a halo game is the things like Elites vs Spartans (something promised in Halo 2) and massive visual events at the end of the game, like the long sword bombing run. My last point is... who cares about dual wielding? it sucked anyway. (it's been cut right? for good? I hope so...)
