I entered this thread thinking a tangible release date was actually available, only to be met with soul-crushing disappointment. In all seriousness, though, I think a reveal date will be some time in April, as this date would still allow for enough marketing before a 2013 release date.

April, when MS reveals the NextBox. Although Destiny is multiplatform, Activision makes good business with Microsoft and Destiny could become the showpiece for next generation technology.
