What's the Point... of Life?
Slow down there, boys and girls. I am NOT considering suicide. I am NOT emo or thinking of doing any questionable things usually linked to this question. I am simply asking this question to help creative writing. What [i]is[/i] the point of life? What is the ultimate goal for human society? If there is other sapient life out there, will they have goals too? If the point of life is to advance, what about beings who have reached the end of the road? [i]Is[/i] there an end of the road for technology?

Why does life have to have a point to begin with? Does the act of living somehow lose meaning just because life - as a natural phenomenon - does not have purpose? One could, for example, find more fulfillment in the fact that their "purpose" does not exist until they create it themselves. One could be humbled by the fact that the universe does not consider them important enough to imbibe them, and all other life, with a singular purpose.

To live and gain knowledge. There isn't an exact purpose of life, but the only things we can do is advance in the knowledge of our universe and learn how to survive in it adequately. That is, if you aren't religious.
