Hi guys,
I'm French, and it's the first time I post on this Forum..
So I'm here to ask you...
Did the Halo Trial (Trial version of Halo Combat Evolved PC) servers has been closed ?
I'm looking for anything about this, but we are 5 who don't see any servers in the list :
When we click on the "Get List" button, the research takes 1 second, and stop, without any servers.
If I said errors, please correct me ._.
Thx ;)

When you download the patch, be sure to save it to another location first, and then move it to the Halo Trial folder to replace the "halo" file that already there. I tried downloading it directly to the folder but it doesnt work that way.

Hey Btcc22 you rock! Just think you need to hear it every once in a while

Yeah you can make mods on Halo Trial which work perfectly fine for clients without the mods. That's the sort of mods I like to host. For everyone to know, Tavrin has made a patch from this one but it works with Halo Reloaded. No, i have modded a bit Blood Gulch of Trial with simple modifications, and players was able to join, and see the modifs, with the normal map ! I made this mode for that. I know the full and Custom Editions are better, but I havn't bought they (yea, i'm stupid -.- ), so I can have problems as "Invalid CD Key".
Posted by: Broomish Do you know who made this patch? Also does anyone know how this patch works?
It is a mystery. [Edited on 12.14.2012 6:58 AM PST]

Hi I just tried this patch and it worked :) I saw the XHS servers. Do you know who made this patch? Also does anyone know how this patch works? Feeling very happy atm :D Huge thanks for posting this!

Plus you can do the exact same trial style mods in Halo PC, with any map. It's why Halo PC has a bunch of mod servers. Oh and you can run dedicated servers 24x7 on PC/CE. So you don't need to keep the game running just to host, just the server, and you can even launch the game then join your hosted server, and you can do a lot more too on said hosted server. No, you're thinking of Custom Edition since that's the one that doesn't let you join games with modded maps without having the same file. HPC does.
-
No, I'm talking about Halo Trial. A simple Mod who add the Needler on Blood Gulch, unlimited Sniper/Magnum, and others gameplay modifications... ;)
Posted by: Pauwlo0 I have already the Full version, but Trial is for my friends wo havn't the Full version, of just because I maked a public Mod on Blood Gulch, that players do not need to download it to play on my server, so it's better than others classics servers.
You're thinking of Custom Edition. Either way, client-side mods are awful for anybody that doesn't have them.

An easier solution would be to pay the 10 bucks needed to buy Halo PC. Kaboom, now you not only get true mods and more gametypes/maps, but you also get the full single player as well.
Posted by: Danimal92 Just tried it and I still have an empty servers list. Is there something else we're missing? (I checked the filters also.)
You'll only see the games of other players that are using the patch, so you'll need to spread the word if you wish to repopulate the demo. I probably should have mentioned that.

You or some software on your machine (jealous AV perhaps) must have done something to corrupt it during the download. Give it another shot. [Edited on 12.10.2012 1:35 PM PST]

Not a valid 32 bits application :/ (I'm running Win 7 64 bits)

Here's a patch to restore the demo's server list. Overwrite your original demo halo.exe with it. After doing some poking around, it seems that there's nothing wrong with the service - it's just returning zero servers for the demo. Interestingly, the Mac demo is still returning servers. I guess there's a fair chance that it's game over. I don't know why anybody plays the demo of an eight year old game though. Time to upgrade, me thinks. [Edited on 12.08.2012 10:52 PM PST]

Just a look on here https://www.facebook.com/gamespytech?fref=ts Can show you that many servers have gone offline in the last week. Some of which are Microsoft games.
-
The server lists are working fine. As a note, Halo doesn't have servers dedicated to it. It costs virtually nothing to keep the server list working.
-
Try now. But its not really that strange since Halo 1 PC only had around 1000 players. Why pay for servers when so few people play the game?
-
Maybe, but it's very strange that nobody said anything about this... (And I can't join your server)
Posted by: Killer4785 If you wanna play, I believe direct IP still works. My server IP is 192.168.0.196:2302 might need a space between the 2 and 3 not sure though.
That's your local IP address I believe, not your external one.

I get the same error. I think either the servers are down of maintenance or Microsoft isn't paying for the servers anymore so they shut them down for good. Some games were already shutdown from publishers not paying their tab for gamespy servers, such as SW: Battlefront.
