So I'm in the market for a gaming headset. Needs to be wireless, 5.1, and have an aux input.
So I found these. They have surround sound and an aux input. Sweet. I bump up one to this model to get wireless, but whoops, there goes the aux input.
OK, this is annoying. Another $10 and I could have these cool things. Got the wireless, the aux, even wireless chat, and-- what the hell, now the surround sound is gone.
Alright, well the X400s promise to give me back that surround sound and-- where's the bloody aux input???
Even the X500s don't have an aux input.
Has anyone else gotten as annoyed with TB's bull-blam!- as much as I have tonight?
Has anyone else been trying to find a headset like this? Can ya help me out?

If you still have doubts about them, just look on youtube or google reviews on them, but trust me, they are well worth the money you spend. Plus, they come with a three year warranty, and free shipping if you buy them from Astros site.

I use mine to listen to music while i game all the time.
But they are wired, right? That's what I think I'm seeing on their website. And I can't find them on Amazon, which is pretty much a dealbreaker. Also I really really do appreciate everyone's input. I'm trying to make sense of all this and it's getting really annoying. Well, I guess I'm wondering why they are so freakin' expensive if they're wired? If it's all just for the 7.1... that's definitely not worth it, I don't think. Is there really that big of a difference in quality between Astro and Turtle Beach?
Its really an unbelieveable difference between the two. Ever since ive used Astros, using Turtle beaches just feels like im hearing it from one of these. and yes, the A40s are wired, but they give you enough length that you can sit comfortably far away. They are extremely comfy to wear for long periods of time. You can also use them as regular headphones if you have a 3.5mm jack. It plugs straight into the earcup. You can also plug a 3.5mm into the mixamp and listen to music while talking and playing. The Voice chat is so incredibly clear. Nothing compares.
Ahh -blam!- bro, now your testimony has me re-thinking. Thanks though.

Believe me when i tell you this from experience. Wireless is only good if you have a docking station for it, and if it lasts more than 4 hours. If not, just go wired. Less hassle.

I don't know why. They should also make the long cords with a breakaway cable like the old Xbox controller wires, so they don't break so easily.
Posted by: mityman50
Posted by: Gamerz_Property Why do you need an aux port anyways? Also, Tritton Warhead is a quality headset. Best I have ever had. Love it to death.
I would like to have the option to play music, too. The 360 music player is... pure, 100% USDA certified -blam!-e. Although I'm considering maybe I should just bite the bullet, even though I really don't want to. Also my price point is MAX $200 (rather around $150), but I want to get them off Amazon so I can use a gift card. Do the A40s have an aux input?
Yep. The mixamp does. And are they wireless? I'm not going to sacrifice both of those, that's just silly. I'm leaning towards the DX12s, only thing they aren't is wireless, but that could actually prevent potential problems anyways. Tell me why I shouldn't get them? [Edited on 12.05.2012 3:16 PM PST]

I got some x12's and they work great. OT: I have not.

And they're completely wired, right- wired game and chat audio?

Astros.

Astros are the obvious choice.
-
Why not try Trittons or Astros?
-
I don't buy them, they break on me easily and it pisses me off.
