What is the policy on NSFW threads in groups?

Like I have one in my group but I've been deleting anything that's actual nudity. What is the actual policy on this? Are there things that are acceptable? Or should I just nuke the thread now?

Because it violates U.S. law and thus the Bungie Code of Conduct.
We're talking about adult materials, not nudity in the workplace, right? I am unfamiliar with a law that prohibits viewing adult film in the workplace, or the viewing of adult films by someone under the age of 18 (not to be confused with adult films depicting someone under the age of 18). Could you tell me which laws these are? I find this hard to believe.
I'm guessing nude works of art are also covered under this "NSFW" banner.

Again, what workplace?

 • OP's question has been answered and it looks like this discussion is straying. If you want to start a separate thread to truly delve into what the forum rules/CoC/ToU mean as to profane/vulgar/obscene/NSFW content, feel free to make a new thread about it. Thanks.

You clearly know what I, and the rules, mean about exposed skin.
While such beliefs are religious to some, in certain areas of the world it is a legal matter. I don't know what you mean about exposed skin, and the rules only express to post material that is "safe for work", nothing at all about exposed skin. Honestly I'm under the impression you're either making all this up or have never read the rules. Whose workplace dictates safety? What if I work in adult media, or a strip club? Such a perfectly acceptable industries. While the Code of Conduct Children's Edition is rather useless, both it and the Terms of Use state not to violate U.S. Law. Obscenity is not protected in the United States; however, certain courts clearly define such "adult" materials as legal.
1: And is thus, also political in nature. The Terms of Use state to not "Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information." Should not the lack of Burkas be banned as such is obscene? •
Posted by: Duck duck DEATH
Posted by: Atomic Tea Just use common sense. If you think you can't post it, you probably can't.
What terrible advice. So if a woman is not wearing a Burka, which is clearly an explicit obscenity, should I be unable to post it?
Don't bring religious beliefs into this, please. •
Posted by: Arbiter 739 There was once a Mythic group that consisted of -blam!-ography. One day Achronos destroyed it. The end.
I think the instance you're referring to was a a single thread, not a group, and Achronos deleted just the thread. He has, however, deleted other private groups that were solely dedicated to NSFW content. OP, it's a good question. In general, NSFW links are still prohibited even in private groups. Grown-up discussions about adults-only topics are generally viewed with a bit more leniency. If you want to be safe, avoid the gray areas.

It's also highly unlikely that anyone who can do anything will find it. I still think there are much better ways of storing -blam!-ography than this site. [Edited on 12.02.2012 4:55 PM PST]
