No Forge maps on Halo 4 matchmaking?

Why aren't any forge maps used in Halo 4's matchmaking?

 •
Posted by: Opt1mu5Pr1m3 15 So in order to not get bored of playing the same maps over and over again you have to buy the map pack.
And 343i doesn't know "like stated in older posts" how to manage online gaming.

 • Good. Keep it so none of those dastardly maps are in MP. Those were absolutely lazy and utter s**t back in Reach. KEEP THEM OUT OF MY MATCHMAKING OR I WILL EAT YOUR LIMBS

 • Quote Forge maps won't make the main Halo 4 multiplayer playlists at first. "We won't be putting Forge creations in the "main" matchmaking areas initially, at least. Certainly Forged variants may go in (rules, the odd object placement) eventually, but we're still discussing how to promote and enable Forge creations in a way that maintains a separation of that kind of content from the main mix. •
Posted by: General Dripik ...this thread makes me lose brain cells. After all the complaints about the forge maps in Reach you guys are actually now complaining about 343 not relying on forge maps? Get lost.
QFT. All I saw during Reach's time was 'too many forge maps' and now you're complaining about not having Forge maps? After the rage over having too many, 343 probably doesn't want to put Forged maps into matchmaking. The File Broswer not working and the general lack of decent community-made maps ties in as well.

 •
Posted by: Emo Joe89
Posted by: goldman4545454 I want them to put up the filer browser so I can get some maps from forge hub.
OMG, you're RIGHT! That's another thing they just cut from Reach. It was a great feature, but it didn't come over to Halo 4. Hate 343i. Too much Microsoft in them.
File browsing and file share are set to launch in December.

 •
Posted by: Sev808 I could be wrong about this but didn't a bunch of people here complain because there were too many forge maps in matchmaking for Reach?
This is true, but we don't have any forge maps, and aren't there like 3 or 4 forging maps?

Also this thread makes me lose brain cells. After all the complaints about the forge maps in Reach you guys are actually now complaining about 343 not relying on forge maps? Get lost.

 • This. Not to mention that it's difficult to go through maps to play test yourself since the File Browser is still broken.
Posted by: TheMongoose3 Because 343 haven't figured out how to handle the online part of their game yet.
I'd also like to point out that halo 3 had its first map pack free, halo 2 had all of them free and halo Reach's didn't come out right after the game had launched, when there were still multiple issues regarding balance and lag like halo 4.
They never released a map pack as free lol. They were only made free later on when nobody was buying them.
Nah, they made one pack for free, and I remember Halo 2 were all free. I also remember Bungie apologized that they had to charge for map packs in Halo 3, because they felt bad, but Microsoft was making them put a price on the packs.
I specifically remember paying to get the Halo 2 maps.
The problem with that system is your choices revolved around a lot of the same thing: Forge World, Forge World, Forge World. They all had the same pictures, but the only difference between them was the name of the maps. Memorizing the names of maps made by other people online was difficult and confusing for a lot of players. Halo 4 has attempted to rectify the situation by introducing at least 3 different "Forge Word" maps, to better differentiate fan-made creations. Unfortunately... they haven't put any of the fan-made creations into MatchMaking now.
Yeah, but they failed because only 1 out of the 3 is large enough to support BTB.

 • I've also been wondering this. I think the default layout of Ravine would be great for Team Slayer.
