is destiny in the same time line as the halo universe, because if you look at the story line we know so far, then it seems like it is possible.

It's a separate universe.

I don't know if Bungie is allowed or even want to do much more with Halo. It is highly unlikely that there is any relation between Destiny and Halo. Bungie will probably take a few ideas from Halo as concepts for Destiny and they're probably going to reference Halo in an easter egg.

Brand new IP. No Forerunners or Flood or Covenant, or even cybernetic super soldiers, it looks like. There'll probably be a few easter eggs, but this is brand new Canon here. Oh teh noes! There goes half the reason to be on the forums. No more canonical debates for a while.
Posted by: devilmaster13 is destiny in the same time line as the halo universe, because if you look at the story line we know so far, then it seems like it is possible.
There may be throwbacks to Halo or Marathon, but it won't take place in the same universe. For starters, it is suggested that Destiny Humanity failed to colonize the Solar System while Halo Humanity has colonies in several different solar systems.
Posted by: devilmaster13 is destiny in the same time line as the halo universe, because if you look at the story line we know so far, then it seems like it is possible.
I would say no, it's not possible. Aside from legal business, ca 250 years is far too little in the Haloverse for something like the events in Destiny to feel plausibly timed. There would be tons and tons of random Halo related artifacts scattered across the galaxy too. I think it's like Marathon and Halo; they shared some references, themes, etc, but they were two different universes. I hope the melee tutorial is the same like in Halo though.. Oddly, this is familiar to you, as if it were from an old dream, but you can't exactly remember..." After Destiny Bungie should make a game about a hero that jumps between various universes, with the goal of solving mysteries by learning what the connections/references between them are... Halo is the property of Microsoft, Bungie is no longer affiliated with Microsoft and has nothing to do with Halo games. Putting it in the same universe would be making a Halo game. Also Bungie has said, and it was in the leaked Activison contract, that it is a new IP. It's a new intellectual property or a new idea. These are the reasons its is very likely not in the Halo universe.
Posted by: McCrash offtopic"; Should there be a Destiny forum allready?
I don't really expect one until either a trailer is officially revealed or the forums get the revamp that's been talked about for a while now, whichever comes first.

so i hope we will find out in the future

Possible.

"According to the leaked document Destiny will be set seven hundred years into the future." 2013(release date) + 700 = 2713 So, it's set past the time of Halo. :)
