Is your view of a thread and it's subject affected by who the OP is?

-
yeah. like for a ken thread i know it's gonna be good
-
Anyone can effect anything.
-
The content is indifferent, but our perceiving of the content is different. I automatically see posts and topics by Mythic users at a higher value, while plain member posts and topics are seen with lower values. The popularity of the user is also a factor.
-
No, not really.
-
Whenever I make a thread people just post sarcastically :/ I'm not stupid guise...
-
I think it's colors that effect the thread the most: -Title bar colors have small, if any, effect -Orange text garners a lot of quotes and replies to that post (even if it has nothing to do with the OP) -Yellow attracts posts, replies and quotes like flies to spoiled food.
Posted by: spartain ken 15 Is your view of a thread and it's subject affected by who the OP is?
Absolutely. If I recognize certain members that typically have low-quality OPs, then I won't even click to open the thread.
-
If the user has a reputation for being a less-than-reputable member, I tend to disregard whatever they say.
-
Yes if I see it was posted by Classic Rock Man or Giant Lamp (Or enclosed lamp) Then I automatically don't take it seriously.
-
I only came into this thread because it was an sk15 thread. Why? To see if it was a passive aggressive attempt at identifying people who don't like him. OT to the question, yes. Of course, this is only if I recognize them and can recall past stances on different subjects.
-
If the user gains a reputation, then yes.
-
Posted by: Xplode441 I clicked on this thread because it was a sken thread. Was not disappointed by the magnitude. OT: No, it doesn't have any effect on my posting style.
wat. "I clicked on this because it was a sken thread." Doesn't that mean a user effected the contents?

All my threads seem to die pretty quickly, so yeah i'd say that the user affects the success of the thread. Not so much the content, although some definitely post more quality than others.
Posted by: Jiggleslinky
Posted by: spartain ken 15 Is your view of a thread and it's subject affected by who the OP is?
Nope, some members tend to make better threads than others however.
I really think we should experiment with this. A3leggedgoat makes a crappy thread and someone will make a good thread. Let us see who gets more comments.
Posted by: mneo Depends on whether they have colored text.

Posted by: da 70 70 hatred I reply with my opinion. It won't change whoever the member is
I think that if you see a thread by me, you know what to expect, if you're familiar with my threads of the past. SENSATIONALIST HYPERBOLE.

-
OP: No. My view is affected by the subject matter of the thread, not by who posted it. Unless it's someone I like... or I think is funny... or is a mythic or a mod... and don't even get me started on gold septagons!
-
Yes. I get ready to scale a wall of text when I see a 3 Legged Goat topic.
-
Yes of course it does.
-
Yep, of course. inb4daz [Edited on 11.16.2012 9:00 PM PST]

I'm not biased toward specific users, but the quality of the thread often relates to the poster.
