Can you get an internship at Bungie?

My brother is looking for one because he is majoring in graphic design and he's quite fond of Bungie. Also due to the fact that he want to be in the gaming industry. So is that possible?

 • I bet you could take their hats and coats as they walk in the door. "Welcome Sir/Madam! To the greatest workplace on Earth, if you need anything, just call! I'll be there swiftly. Enjoy your day."

 • I hear they're interviewing for "Game Idea Guy Who Comes Up With All The Cool Stuff Like How The Guns Look And Stuff", too. You should inquire about that one also. © [Edited on 11.14.2012 8:22 PM PST]

 • I believe it's worth a try. But obviously if you're serious, don't only send your stuff to Bungie.

He's busy right now :/

 •
Posted by: Bricypoo Yes, they have had many interns over the years. Also, if I remember correctly Halcylon started off as an intern and just this past year or so became a full employee.
I believe he was under contract.

 • I contacted Achronos about this similar situation. He believes that there isn't any internship opportunity at Bungie, but likewise from what Tom T has found through the archieved interviews, internship is possible. Be my guest and try to apply for one. Who knows, your brother might get lucky and work at Bungie on their secret project! Heck! Even get to sit next to Halcylon!

 •
Posted by: Tom T It does happen.
Q. And how did you end up first make contact with Bungie? A. I was interning at Microsoft in the summer of '05. We had a weekly Halo night where we played on system link in the conference rooms on these big projectors. I met another intern there named François, who was working at Bungie in level design. I asked him to get me in touch with someone here, and a while later Chucky contacted me and we started the interview process. I still had two years of college left, so I got an internship for the next summer.
Source Jon 'JonnyOThan' Cable's Breaking In article. It is however very rare that Bungie take in interns, or at least that is the impression I get.
I see playing Halo can get you a long way

 • It couldn't hurt for him to send in his portfolio, resume, and a nice cover letter/email to the careers alias (careers@bungie.com). IIRC, internships are rare, but if they like what they see, there's always the possibility they'd be willing to hire him on full-time at some point.
Posted by: Bricypoo Yes, they have had many interns over the years. At least in terms of Hal. [Edited on 11.13.2012 3:28 PM PST]
