Alcohol should be illegal

Alcohol is a dangerous and addictive drug. In modern society alcohol causes nothing but trouble. It turns people into crazy stupid idiots. It causes the death of many innocent people and it ruins families. For the safety of America alcohol needs to be a criminalized schedule 1 controlled substance. Now before everyone comes in and says "HERP DERP THE PROHIBITION ALREADY FAILED ONCE" That is because they did not enforce it enough. If anyone is found to be in possession of alcohol they should get an AUTOMATIC 20 years in prison. Nobody would risk messing with alcohol if they knew that they are one slip up away from 20 years in the pen. And thus any blackmarket alcohol sellers would have nobody to sell to and would quickly give up. or get caught and get put away for 20 years. With this new policy in place alcoholics would either stop drinking or get put away for 20 years. Drunk drivers would disappear ( Driving while under the influence should be a capital offense punishable by death ) And the world would be a safer place.

 •
Posted by: funkbrotha10
Posted by: Rogue soldier11 No, that would be boring.
Would it be more fun to have your family killed by a drunk driver?
Stop making such ridiculous assumptions. One beer while sitting at my computer does not equate driving through town after 10 drinks. Stop.

No wonder the planet has gone to -blam!-
Why shouldn't someone be able to ingest whatever they like in the privacy of their own home?
Because many of the drugs can and will turn people into violent crazy animals. Not to mention te many that die early because their livers are kidneys are messed up. Or look at domestic violence relating to alcohol. I laugh at anyone who thinks alcohol causes no issues in our society.

I pity those who think government intervention is the way to solve our issues. And that goes double for prohibition.

 • Yep. If it was legalized, it could be properly produced, regulated, and distributed. Since it would be legal, the gangs wouldn't make money off of it because they wouldn't control the supply. Since the gangs can't make money, people stop turning to gang life for easy cash. That cuts out most crimes right there.
