Girl Tweets Shortly Before Kidnapping

I figured I would share this story posted by our wonderful friends at 4chan. Not really sure what to think of this. Makes me feel...eerie knowing that if this is real it was out there. What are your thoughts Flood? [Edited on 09.30.2012 9:21 PM PDT]

 • you know, some people are really stupid. here's what I would do if an intruder came into my house Step 1: Call 911 Step 2: Barricade the door, ANYBODY CAN DO THIS. just throw a drawer, bed, whatever the -blam!- you can in front of that door, and I garuntee you, that if you're in a life threatening situation, adrenaline will kick in and you could barricade that door in 30 seconds flat. For me, it's as simple as pushing the bed against the door, then a drawer against the bed. Done. If the intruder tries to force their way in, it pushes the bed against the drawer, which tries to push against the other drawer which is resting against the wall. It's physically impossible to get past the barricade. Step 3: Jump out window and run as far away as you can once the intruder tries to get through your door (if this is an option for you) easy as hell, really. Don't bother hiding. If you hide, you take chances, barricading and strategically escaping, it depends on skill. Then again, dudes are very rarely kidnapped. Ever. and girls probably lack the strength required to do such a barricade. Oh well. [Edited on 10.01.2012 12:19 AM PDT]
-Dial 911- 3 seconds -They pick up- 5 seconds -I'M IN DANGER HELP!- 2 seconds There, they have you location name and info from the phone call.

 • "Now this is the hard part, they are going to take you" Don't worry guys Liam Neeson is on the job. But seriously the typos in her tweet make my heart feel like it sunk unto my stomach. And it's even more scary that the tweet was only 9 hours ago. [Edited on 10.01.2012 12:20 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: cowguy Protip: when scary -blam!- goes down people panic, not everybody (especially a 16 year old girl) can keep there composure and think rationally. The steps you laid out have 1 big flaw and that is time is a factor maybe she did not have time to find a weapon or call the police without being heard? maybe she had twitter already up already when the break in happened? maybe she was to scared to think to post the zip code?
It takes about the same amount of time to find a weapon/phone as it does to type out "There's someone in the house, call 911" on a touch screen. The point is lack of foresight. Also "Scherb would not confirm whether or not Alongi's phone was found in the home." I wonder what she used to tweet ...

You hear your front door unlock and open suddenly, ecen though you're home alone. Your phone is on the other side of the room. Do you: A.Tweet fast, as you try to hide in your closet B.Try to get your phone and dial 911, leaving no chance to hide I wonder.
Tweeting the scenario is just as effective as throwing poop out the window hoping a neighbour sees it and suspects something's wrong. Ideally you should try to get out the house as quickly as possible, barring that you should call the police, barring that you shouldn't use your phone (it's far more likely she tweeted with a phone rather than a ipod) to tweet the scenario! It would be far more effective to either text or tweet someone specifically rather than just ambiguously throwing it out there, no one knows whether they should take responsibility or whether or not it's even serious. Most people get a weapon and call the police as quickly as possible. I mean damn, her twitter followers might not even know where she lives, she didn't even put her zip code in at the end of the message.
Protip: when scary -blam!- goes down people panic, not everybody (especially a 16 year old girl) can keep there composure and think rationally. Holy -blam!- it's late I need sleep.
This again. Literally it is the worst feeling on the planet. It's happened 2 times to me, because for some reason when no one answers the door people feel the need to wiggle the knob. First time I was like 7 and I hid in a closet until my family was home. Second time I grabbed a damn bat. In her case this would mean someone suddenly opened the door. That is beyond the scariest thing that I could imagine happening.

Even creepier in that case. As I said 3 times now.
It wouldn't be someone she knew. She would recognize them for one, and also there was that tweet (which wasn't spammed on 4chan at all, I've been on the most active boards for quite some time and haven't seen any thread implying to do so). The tweet was deleted because the whole thing escalated and she is probably at her grandparents house or something right now and then they'll claim she was out drunk at a club or something. The family doesn't want to get in trouble or look stupid since it is of national attention and so they can't go back on the missing person report now. Their fault for having such a dumbass daughter.
All of those pictures were proven fake. Have you been home alone and not expected anyone and heard the door open? It's scary as hell. Most I've had is some guy wiggle the knob, so I can imagine why she'd instantly hide and post that.
Where were they proven fake? The picture was from EST which I am in, and the comment was from an hour before I even started posting in the thread. You can't photoshop something like that, that easily. Also, I'm sure it is quicker and easier to dial 911 than to load up your Twitter app, press the new tweet button, type out that message, hit send, and then be kidnapped. Plus, where did her phone go? I don't think it is home and I'm sure it was just turned off if she is gone.
Calling 911 requires you to speak, which makes noise, which is something you don't want to make if someone's in your home looking for you. Holy -blam!- it's late I need sleep.
