Jackal Sniper= One shot kill? (Beam Rifle)
In canon?
Headshot or no headshot, against anything and everything, how would it do?

I want to know whether it could in canon travel through shields and armor.

The 1 shk thing is just Bungie cheapening up the difficulty. You'll notice when you use it, it's quite underpowered, even against your own marines unless you go for headshots. Why, it's half the damage of the CE sniper (this is an understandable change. Allies spawned with it as well and they could easily betray the player. Well the Beam Rifle has more penetration then the UNSC Sniper Rifle so I'm guessing it'll be pretty powerful.

2 shots. Unless a headshot. Remember sierra 117 on legendary at the beggining? You take one step and they kill you. Theres no beating those 2 jackals.

Halo: Bloodline shows a Carbine to completely melt the face off of a Spartan wearing Mk VI armour, so I don't see why a PBR wouldn't with a headshot, as in the following scene in the comic the Mk VI's sheilds take the shot and disrupt the sheilds.

I don't think there are any parts in the book showing the beam rifle in action but seeing that it is a sniper rifle that fires a [b]beam[/b] i would think so.
