Forerunner Fortress Class Vessel vs ME, Halo, Star Wars, 40k etc

-One 100km Forerunner Fortress Class Vessel controlled by Offensive Bias. No biological entities on board. -Everything in the Mass Effect and Halo universes at the height of their powers (excluding Forerunners, Precursors and Flood, along with anything before the Protheans). -Includes all modern ME races, Cov, UNSC (modern humans), Protheans, Reapers. Basically their space fleets vs Forerunner Fortress Class Vessel. +Ceph +Xel Naga Who would win? If all else fails, add in the 40k universe, too. Stargate Ancients. Culture. Xelee. -> Super OP, only if all else fails. -No super weapons, this is a space battle. Who would win? (Trying to test the Flood's intelligence) Forerunners have full slip space mastery. • So I don't quite get how the forerunners were so overpowered yet they couldn't handle the flood.

It should have a pretty interesting loadout if there is a question to beat any universe as a whole.
It was pretty much what the Assault Carriers (now the Supercarriers) were to the Covenant, massive ships capable of immense damage. a bunch of cruisers (4 if I remember correctly) were able to destroy a Halo (original, three times as big as the ones in the games). Now, considering how this ships are the pride of the Forerunner Navy, then you can probably see why they are so "wanked".

Everyone seems to be making the numbers bigger and bigger. Originally they said giga-tera, then that was changed to tera-peta, now it is peta-exa. Barely saw any reasoning for this shift either.
Fortresses are supposed to be somewhere around the terra/peta range, depending on which weapon you're talking about. Exa isn't right. Now that 40K showed up they'll have this, since the Forerunners might as well be an overpowered 40K race anyway.
Almost all the Halo races seem to be getting wanked to crazy levels. SMACs went from megatons to 1.17 teratons, High Charity is apparently surrounded by hundreds of super carriers (was that retconned?), and every time I look the Forerunners are creeping higher up the scale.
Forerunners have been apparently wanked all the way up to the XEELEE themselves. Later, I've even seen the wanked up even futher to the TIME LORDS. I think we need to set feats for these guys. OT: The Fortress beats everything, though I'm not so sure about 40k.

    • OK, so this thread has escalated to ONE Forerunner ship Vs the UNSC, the Covenant, the 40k Universe, the ME Universe, and, if I'm reading right, the aliens from Crysis, the Rebel Alliance, and the Imperial Empire? I'm sorry, but even the Forerunners couldn't fight that many ships, which would probably be in the MILLIONS if all of these factions are at their peak.

    • We don't know anything about a Fortress class vessel. We don't know if the Halo 3 Dreadnought was damaged or not by Lord Hood's strike (For all we know it could have sustained massive damage thus explaining why it couldn't just be used to stomp Rtas' fleet over the Ark), we don't know how strong a Fortress Class ship's shields are, or even what it shields are to begin with, or what its hull is made of, and how strong that is. We don't know how maneoverable it is, or how powerful its weaponry is (And before someone tells me that it blew up a Halo, first tell me the exact size of the "canyon" it made and that its creation was solely due to the weapon and not secondary sub-system explosions, and that this is its standard firing setting and not some overcharge at the expense of the weapon itself.) There's too many assumptions in this thread. The reasoning seems more or less to be "Well it must be powerful, therefore it is". If it were that powerful then the Forerunners would not have lost the war. (And I doubt they were retarded enough to do absolutely nothing about the Flood stealing their warships. The Flood used other species ships - Cruise Liners, personal transports, Freighters, etc - to spread.)

    • I am tempted to say ME and Halo just because of the sheer ammount of firepower. The Fortress outclasses them individually by far, but there are so many ships going against it that I wouldn't be upraised if the shield do eventually drop. Still, Fortress victory. Don't know Xel'Naga but I am willing to give the Ceph the benefit of the doubt. The Crysis 2 novel likened their invasion of Earth as a man stooping to pick up his keys and getting bitten by an ant on the ground. IIRC, the Ceph have a massive empire and we are seeing a miniscule fragment. 40k easilly takes this. The Necrons RELEASE THE C'TAN! Cue Void Dragon taking over Fortresses machinery. Cue C'Tan turning into sentient black holes. Cue supernova. Tyranids win through sheer weight of numbers (the main three Hive fleets we have seen? Those are splinter fleets). Chaos just doesn't care. Throws a few daemons in there, maybe a warp storm or two. Everyone else can destroy them the old fashioned way. Not sure about the ancients, but the Forerunners would not be a blip on the Culture's or Xelee's radar. One thing I find funny is the Forerunner weapons. Everyone seems to be making the numbers bigger and bigger. Originally they said giga-tera, then that was changed to tera-peta, now it is peta-exa. Barely saw any reasoning for this shift either. • The Imperial Fleet would take it out if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, the empire would have casualties, but if they have the entire star fleet(IE: All the millions of star destroyers) along with the Eclipse, Death Star, Galaxy Gun, Sun Crusher, World Devastator, Planet Killer, and all other world ending ships, and each Star Destroyer was armed with the Death Star superlaser like the Conqueror had, then it would end the ship, or at the very least cripple it.

    • I think it would be pretty stand still. With that much firepower on both sides? That's a big fight. Maybe Forerunners since they can just slip out.

    •
Posted by: theHurtfulTurkey
Posted by: CND AAA Beef So maybe we should toss in the Ancients from Stargate too.
It's safe to say that post-ascension, the Ancients would wipe the floor with any and all contenders if they chose to interfere.
The Ori would. Their ships are quite powerful too.

    •
Posted by: Harbing3r UK Whats the point in including forerunners when they are just stupidly overpowered? "Lets bring in a race which is max on everything that'll be fair"
And then OP brings in the Culture, which turns this into a curbstomp in the exact opposite direction, then finally kills all debate after smashing it with the epitome of baryonic species. • Overview of the thread. |------------| These are the "goalposts" Fortress vs Mass Effect and Contemporary Halo FORTRESS BOLOSTOMP |---------------------| +Ceph and Xel'Naga Ceph get stomped just as bad, we know little to naught about the Xel'Naga, but if we're going by established feats, they get hit hard too. Might be able to deplete the hardlight shields though. |--------------------------------------------| +SW, SG Ancients, and 40k SW EU ends up as a pyrric victory, because of denial of slipspace manipulation and constant streams of ships from the Star Forge. 40k- Chaos can't be hit, so it's the same thing. Necs would eventually pop shield and tear the hull to bits. Tyranids would gum up the guns, due to the Fortress being unable to run or space itself from the OMGWTFBBQ amounts of nids. Ancients pre ascension either drop ZPM bombs everywhere or die to incompetence. Post-ascension... they handwave away the Forerunners from even existing ever. |----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| +Culture Gridfire from hyperspace. One shot = GG. How did the OP let the thread decay like this? (The goalposts have been shot out of orbit and are now nearing the edge of the universe) +Xeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee HOLY CRAP OP WHAT THE HELL? [Edited on 07.12.2012 12:10 AM PDT]
