Where do spartans keep their ammo?

In Reach you could put ammo pouches on your character, which seems the most logical because if you look anywhere else on mjolnir there are no places to put ammo. I've also noticed in HCE, the Master Chief carries ammo pouches on his abdominal area.

 • Look at the Halo 4 trailer, when he reloads the grenade launcher thingy, that should answer your question. Edit: If you look at his left leg when he's using the thruster pack, you'll see that he has the grenade lanucher ammo there. [Edited on 06.20.2012 12:52 PM PDT]

 • I've also wondered where they keep spare ammo (on the Mark VI anyway). I always thought that some of it was kept in the compartment-like part of their armor located on the hip (use this image as a reference). I could be wrong, but I've always thought that looked like a small compartment, but it may be something completely different or insignificant. [Edited on 06.19.2012 9:47 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Telec Maybe they just tape all their mags together?
Spartan II´s have done this before in the novels to carry extra ammunition during ops, but I imagine most ammo would be magnitized to their armor, in ammo pouches, or taped if needed.

 • I remember him having an ammo belt in H1 but I guess he just keeps it in an alternate dimension now.

 • Didn't the Spartans tape some magazines and the pins of grenades to their armour? And as others have been saying, the Spartans carried belts with ammo. ~Quinton~

 • Pouches just like what we saw in Halo Reach. I really hope pouches and things like that are in Halo 4, after playing ODST and Reach it seems strange for a soldier to have no place to carry his equipment and ammo.

 •
Posted by: Assassin 11D7
Posted by: Bradztar117 wasnt there in halo 1 a bandoleer thing around his waist? aka: a belt of ammo pouches
Yep, the Chief did have that in Halo 1. Maybe they used cloaking technology to hide it in Halo 2 and 3?
Cause that would totally help trying to find the right pouch in the middle of a battle.

 •
Posted by: Gamer Whale
Posted by: Avatar Korra Chief most likely had ammo pouches in Halo 2 and 3, but it was just over looked by Bungie.
This. Ammo pouches. If someone tries to say "hidden compartments in armor" I'm gonna laugh. There's no room.
What if they amputated one of chiefs leg between halo 1 and 2 to create room? • Master Chief's Mjolnir Mark V suit had an ammo belt to it. Perhaps the Mark VI suit has something similar, but it's just on the model for Halo 2 and 3. At least that was the nice thing about Reach. Your Spartan, depending on what you customized him or her with, would have places to store ammunition.

 • Pouches, unless you go with the one Legends shown of SMG reloading. But that's for one gun only. Really, Mark VI had nowhere to store ammo :/.

 • This is why Reach had my favorite Spartan Models. My favorite canonized armor configuration would be the Mark V helmet and pauldrons with the Commando Chest and the utility pouch. When your spartan reloads, he reaches behind him or to his hip. The pouches make this animation authentic. Also, external wrist mounted shotgun shells = badass.

 • Pocket dimensions. It's how Arby teleports and why Johnson always comes back to life with BR in hand. But seriously, ammo pouches. Why they ditched that in H3 and onward (they were found on the ground in CE and H2) I'll never know... [Edited on 06.15.2012 5:44 PM PDT]

 • Ammo pouches probably. I'm assuming it was overlooked so they wouldn't have to add additional things to the model and what not. Also Spartans are supposed to be masters of any weapons. So I'm assuming that if they ran out of ammo they could just pick up another weapon. Also Spartans are actually smart so they could probably learn to use a Covie weapon on the go.

 • In First Strike when John needed to carry much more ammunition than usual he taped magazines onto his armour, otherwise pouches as per above.
