So all in all, Halo PC and Custom Edition (halomaps.org) is allowing you for free online play as long as you buy the original game. You can still find it in some stores and online. Also, on Halo PC and Halo CE there still are thousands of unique players. On Halo PC you are restricted to base Halo PC maps(they're very good) and on Halo CE, you get slightly updated shaders, base Halo PC maps and also, thousands of Custom maps that push Halo's limit much farther than ''Forge'' allows in Reach.
Posted by: the omega man117 Gamespy. I recommend you get Xfire. You can keep a friends list, take screenshots, join clans, record video, and other stuff.
Same
Posted by: Multijirachi Since it doesn't use LIVE, what does it use?
Like omega said, Gamespy. However, registration isn't required. Just install the game with a valid key and you're set to play multiplayer.

Gamespy. Also, Windows LIVE is a pathetic attempt by Micro$haft to bring Xbox LIVE services to PCs, which to be quite honest, sucked anyways. I recommend you get Xfire. You can keep a friends list, take screenshots, join clans, record video, and other stuff. [Edited on 02.17.2012 11:53 AM PST]
