•
Posted by: DeathBringer669 Also, I'm usually fine with the things that Bungie does to get money, but this is a little ridiculous. I find it absolutely money hungry that you can only pinpoint Firefight clips by paying for render minutes and not just in Theater mode. You guys know that people were angry that you couldn't record clips in Campaign so why didn't you just fix it for ODST? I'm well aware that ODST uses the same engine as Halo 3, but you could have just tweaked it a bit to support recording clips. One would think that one of the genius programmers as Bungie could have fixed it in the year or two that ODST was in production. For shame Bungie...
What probably happens is the backend plays the film until the timestamp entered on the website, starts capturing, and then stops at the end timestamp. Very unlikely there's a feature working IN the game which they're saving as a money making scheme, and if they were, campaign / firefight films seem like a dumb subject for said scheme. Anyways, you don't know jack about how the saved films system works--I remember Luke Timmins talking about how enigmatic and astounding the saved films system is even to the engineers back in that film / forge viddoc for Halo 3. And if it's easy after all, why don't other fps games have saved films, hmmm?
