The Fist, The Lightning, And The 7th Column---Meanings.
I was wondering what each of these means, so I tried to do a bit of deep thinking. Tell me if I'm wrong;

This I'm having some trouble with. So lighting is normally something used to show fear (in horror movies) or power. I don't know why Bungie would try to scare us, so I'm assuming it shows power. And also seeing as the Fist is holding the Lightning, I'm assuming it shows that if we, the Community, unify and work together then we will achieve great power.

This one, although seemingly simple, is actually pretty complicated. It shows 6 rectangles pointing out, with a 7th one that is unconnected and is pointing up. So, does this mean that we (the Community) are the Seventh Column? If so, then it shows that we are the balance and that without us the "structure" would fall. However, one could look at this from a different point of view. They could say that each Column is a specific part of the Community. Something like; our love, criticism, feedback, e.t.c. Yet another possibility is that the 7 rectangles each represent a part of the Plan for World Domination. The last rectangle, which is unattached, could represent the last step that could be completed with our (the Community) help. Pretty complicated.

The lightning predominantly has the form that pictures, paintings, drawings, etc. of mythological stories and creatures have. I.e., whenever someone draws Zeus or Thor, that's what the lightning looks like (as opposed to, say, Achronos' avatar). I suppose that could mean immortality... but 'strength' or 'power' are more likely keywords IMO. The fist I think is clearly anarchy... the resemblance from those Google Images is rather creepy. And The Seventh Column might be nothing more than another reference to 7. It's possible that Bungie chose to be obsessed with a number for no other reason than to build a cult following. The book is also subtitled "The Modern Prometheus" and Prometheus was the Titan who created everything on Earth in Greek mythology, but he felt bad for the humans who had no advantage over his other creations so he stole fire from the gods and gave it to the humans. Prometheus was a maker of life and a giver of power.

Knowing that we are called that is not the same as knowing [u]why[/u] we are called that.
