[ART] Ryst's Halo Fanart
Hey all! I've been quiet for awhile, mostly due to college and just assorted stuff from IRL keeping me busy. But the fact of the matter is I have missed the Halo community and want to kind of get my foot in the door and start participating again, since the Halo universe and community as a whole have been so inspiring to me.
Anyways I draw a lot, so I'll just post a few highlights for now.

Well i think that they are cute. I like your drawings they are very creative. i really liked number 7. Elites are my favorite things to draw besides transformers and turians. :D

Oh geeze! Thanks everyone! I wasn't expecting quite so much of a positive reaction, haha. I'll be the first to admit my work is a bit strange, but I try not to let that keep me from drawing what I love. I do have a piece planned that's more serious and just focused on a Spartan, since Halo wouldn't be Halo if I didn't draw some art focused on the conflict and the more solemn aspects that make it what it is.

Ok, now that I have had a chance to view all of your screenshots, I have a similair opinion as the other users who have also viewed your gallery. They are indeed a bit strange, but nonetheless are great drawings with much detail. So besides the the strangness included in your gallery, the screenshots themselves are great. Nice work.

Sorry it took me so long to write a reply. Anyway, I always try to keep an open mind and be tolerant of all things. Your boyfriend must be a lucky guy if your willing to express your relationship through pictures based off of the bloodiest battle in fictional human history on a forum where people expect violence and gore.

It's not often there is a female Halo fan drawing Halo pictures. I really appreciate your detail to given canon on Elites, and applaud you for taking Halo art to where it hasn't been taken to before. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see more of your work!

Haha, yeah. That one seems to be what's giving most people a hard time. It was a picture for my boyfriend, basically (I'm a girl in case you were wondering, just don't like broadcasting that fact because I don't think it really... matters). It's just our two-ingame characters (his Spartan, my Elite) enjoying each other's company.

The Elite wearing glasses is one of my characters. So it's not a multitude of them, it's an individual. And--it's a she. Which is why she does, in fact, seem feminine. Since we've been told that Elites are saurian, I try to keep gender differences to a minimum when drawing them--no breasts, no hair, etc. I just draw male Elites as being bigger, taller, and more muscled than the females. They have slightly difference facial structures, too, but that's something I'm still learning to depict so it's not as apparent here.

I really enjoyed the finished pieces (Except with the Elite dressed like a human, too creepy o.O). EDIT: I just finished looking through the sketches. Out of every pic here, Sketch 01 would be my favorite. There's something so striking about it too me. Also, why do all the unhelmeted elites have glasses? Oh and, do you really like Elites? @blade246 - Thank you, I appreciate it! @Halo biggest fan - Yeah, understand this type of thing isn't for everyone, that these are a bit more "cutesy" than some people are expecting from such the fanbase of a shooter. @M94 Mushroom Man - Thanks, I had a lot of fun drawing both of those, haha. I like drawing goofy things, not everything has to be SUPER SERIOUS all the time. At everyone else--sorry it's not to your liking! Turn your head and cough, I'm not shoving this down anyone's throat and demanding that you like it. You're entitled to your opinions, it's just not going to discourage me from drawing what I enjoy.
