Eyeglasses smell real bad...
I don't know if anyone else has ever had this problem(cause this is kinda weird), but both of the "ends" of my eyeglasses(the parts that hook over your ears) smell pretty bad. It's worse when I slide the ends off. The metal underneath is wet and greasy. I checked and there's definitely some water traped in the rubbery ends, probably from when I didn't take the ends off when I used to clean the lenses.
Before I started washing them like that, I didn't notice anything, maybe a faint "hair" smell when I'd first take the glasses off, but that's normal. Now that faint smell is trapped with the water inside the ends, possibly mildewing. So, yah, that's pretty disgusting.
I've thought of just tapeing up over the metal where the ends should be. But I'd really like to somehow get the insides of the ends dry, and do away with the smell.
So, has anyone ever heard of this?, and most importantly, how do I fix this problem?

I had to smell mine after reading this thread and mine didn't have any odd smells. The inside of my belly button on the other hand...

I clean my glasses off in the shower. Simply get a good lather with bar soap and clean them. I also like to rub down the arms of all of my glasses with a Wet One alcohol wipe every week. Edit: Try leaving the rubber ends out in the sun should dry them nicely. [Edited on 11.06.2011 9:48 PM PST]
