I had Halo Reach running fine on two local system linked Xbox consoles for several months. We had been playing pretty much ever day until a couple of week ago when we switched to Halo 3 for a few days. This was the first time we ran a second console linked with Halo 3.
When we switched back to Halo Reach again we found it impossible to establish a system link connection. The host console shows up in the list but when I go to select it the join option is grayed out. What has gone wrong?
Has anyone else had a problem like this?

It worked perfectly, thanks for the great advice!

Connect to Xbox Live and load the game it will auto download the update

The old console is at 1.1 and the new one shows nothing so I guess the old one must have updated itself and the new one did not. How do I force the new one to update?

and if your not sure what TU u have, when your at the first menu (where it says campaign and main menu) it should say 1.1 in small white letters on the bottom right corner

Yeah, like they said above, they require the same version (TU). Since you're most likely playing in your own house, I don't think the 30ms ping limit would affect you.
