If 343 weren't complete nincompoops and put his weight at a staggering 400 pounds (utterly ridiculous if you ask me) unarmored, what would you say he 'realistically' weighs, compared to the rest of the SPARTANS.
In my honest opinion I'd put him around 230 pounds compared to the others. For example, Carter and Chief are the same height according to Fall of Reach and Reach, 6'10 unarmored. Now take a look at this picture.
Carter is 250 pounds according to Bungie, now take a look at him. John is lean, agile, but noticeably powerful just by the way he carries himself. Carter is more akin to Marcus Fenix from Gears of War, built like a brick sh1thouse.
The only reason I did not include all the members of Noble is because Emile, Jun, and Six all use the same player bipeds, so it would be pointless. I intend to do a pic of MC and Jorge in the future, however. Take into account Jorge is 320 pounds according to Bungie so we'll see how that turns out.
If MC was closer to Jorge's height I'd put him around 270 pounds even.

The Master Chief is 7'2".
-
Yeah it puts him as heavier than Jorge, pretty stupid. Also the Elites are too light.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the two hundred pound digit used when the narrator was describing Chief when he was 14? Earlyish in the novel when it describes them as looking like fit 20 year olds at only 14 years old?
Posted by: qirahs
Posted by: grey101 um were are all of these crazy weights coming from? Halopedia has the correct ones and the only one that is "off" is jorge's weight of 320 pounds. john weighs 238 without armor, carter is 250, I see nothing wrong with that.
Im not sure where you got 238 lbs from, but the weights in this thread have come from 3 different sources. -In The fall of reach- Master chief without armor is said to weigh 286 lbs. -Im not sure where, but Mendez stated that the spartans weighed approx. 200 kg (440 lbs). (this one im not sure of, as i can't find a link or exact source). - In the bestarium, the spartan II weight, with MC picture, was given as 179 KG (393 lbs).
When excluding his Ceramic Ossification Implants, I'd assume he'd probably weigh around 230 something pounds naturally.

Sparten's have ceramic-reinforced bones right? Ceramics are very heavy, not like your grandma's china tea cups. combine that with the muscle density and you can have anywhere from a 250 LB weight to a whopping 475, it's really just fodder for speculation lol! 1 rule for life, don't ask a woman her age and weight, the same goes for spartens! :D

powerlifter, like me, knows first hand what muscle does to weight, especially super dense muscle and ceramic-coated bone onto a man nearly 7 ft tall.

Master chief's armor weights nearly 700 or a little lower, And your using logic about his weight u read the halo 3 game book?

All I know is that Spartans weigh a motherlode with or without a suit.
Posted by: anton1792 Look up Jared Gaither, a player on the NFL for the KCC. He weighs 340lbs and is the same height as John. Yet some people believe that a S-II supersoldier with super-dense bones and muscles should be lighter. *sigh*
Not only that, but Jared does not have as much body fat as other football players, yet he still weighs 340 lbs. Makes sense. [Edited on 09.21.2011 6:06 AM PDT]

Nearly 1000 pounds u read the halo 3 history?

130kg sounds about right for Chief. Anyone care to provide an official source on Carter's weight?
Posted by: xhalf jaw117 Didn't they get metal plating on their bones like wolverine? Plus he has the muscle to flip a tank. And he's about as tall as sasquatch.
Posted by: SW33T 7OO7H Isn't Master Chief a Cyborg? Meaning parts of his body are actually durable metals or plastics? It would explain the weight difference between the Chief and Carter.
Please, don't move your fingers across the keyboard.

His armor is. I remember reading about the Master Chiefs weight in my Halo 2 game guide. It said around 700 pounds. (I read that about six years ago)
Posted by: BAKALAKA Holy -blam!-, Master Chief is a fatass!
Many 6'10 athethlets weigh close to 300 pounds, if not more, depending on the sport. It would make perfect sense that SPARTANS, with increased muscle and bone mass, could weigh an upwards of 400 lbs
Posted by: ThePredkiller2
Posted by: ferrrari
Posted by: metaltumor
Posted by: IonicPaul Spartans weigh almost double (triple?) the norm of human body-weights due to increased muscle and bone mass. 400 pounds is not outside the realm of possibility in that case. It sounds more like Bungie got it wrong with Carter's weight, or Carter has less muscle than Chief. Also, weren't Spartan-III's supposed to be shorter than Spartan-II's? I remember Bungie saying something about that.
Spartan II's were the cream of the genetic crop. The tallest, most athletic, and most coordinated of humans. Spartan III's recieved similar augmentation, but were randomly chosen regardless of genetic background/ traits.
Nope, spartan 3s still needed a certin genetic traits (although not as strict as the spartan 2s) picking any random kid from the street and putting the spartan 3 augmentions on them would still have killed them. And whats to say some of the spartan 3s didn't have the genes to be equal to spartan 2s...
That would be Noble Team. Likewise, Noble Six' genetics are on par with the Chief's according to Halsey.
When did halsey say anything like that? And ofcourse some of the original spartan IIIs are going to fit the genetic parameters perfectly seeing how they were probably the subjects for the next class if not the first.

halopedian has it sourced that 'boot camp" gave his exact weight though i am sure it was referenced in the first novel at some point. this entire thread is out of control as there is nothing wrong with the spartans weight numbers. The only one that raises an eyebrow is jorges.
