The Official Thread of Swashbuckling Officialness and FAQ
[url=http://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/crimson-steam-pirates/id438053238?mt=8]Crimson: Steam Pirates[/url] is available at midnight in your time zone on 9/1. For now, it's iPad only.
You can grab the first eight voyages and two multiplayer pass and play scenarios for free (which is a fine price). If you like what you see, you can pick up eight more voyages for $1.99 (which is also a fine price).
The game was developed by a small team in Redmond, WA. You can check out their website, and a whole mess of Crimson back story at the link below.

The team is led by Jordan Weisman, who you might know through his other games, Crimson: Skies, MechWarrior, and Shadowrun, or through his work in the "Why So Serious?" Batman campaign, NIN's Year Zero, or I Love Bees for Halo 2.

I love the game. Can the stats be connected to the bungie.net profile the same way halo stats are represented? I'd like to click to view pirate stats the same way I can view Halo Reach stats.

It isn't working for me; I try to launch the game, and then no matter what I click on (Sagas, Duels, Links, etc.) I get backed out of the game and back to the iOS home screen.

When will it be available for the xoom tablet? My sister too angry at me to let me use her I pad.

If that doesn't work, connect your iPad to your PC and click "Restore Apps."

I might be a bit late to the party, but when I followed the link apparently confirming that it is due to come out on Steam and Android, I could see no such confirmation. Does anyone know where this currently stands?

Maybe. But not in the near future. And, for the record, it is easily possible to use Facebook just for its authentication services. Just don't give it real information and don't give anything permission to post anything to your profile, and you essentially have Windows Live ID (WLID incidentally has a full profile system too, we just don't use it here).
