Halo PC Not CE help Main menu wont load

When I go to start up Halo PC not Custom Edition I get the beginning videos. After that the title screen should show up but its just a black screen with music in the background. I have Nvidia GeForce 5500 I think. I installed new drivers and turned of AF & AA. Nothing changed. Uninstalled (for some reason I thought it would work) reinstalled 2 times. I can't find my same situation anywhere on the internet. Does anybody know what the hell is going on?

 •
Posted by: Barnacle_Blast Maybe you could try running the game in safemode. To run it in safemode put -safemode at the end of the Halo Combat Evolved PC shortcut's target line. Should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe"[put a space here]-safemode You could also start the game and hit the CTRL key and then select, "Continue in Safemode." Also maybe it could be the resolution you're running the game in is unsupported. Another thing is that you could try running the game in compatibility mode. By the way are you receiving any error messages?
No error messages just a blank screen. I'll try safemode. EDIT: safemode works! thanks [Edited on 06.14.2011 2:35 PM PDT]

 • None of that works, like I said. I already downloaded all of the new drivers. I look at general settings (for all programs) AA is off. For Halo.exe specifically AA is also off.

 • AA still forced somewhere, that is the only cause for black screens. Double check settings, download latest graphics drivers.
