I think its a good idea.

I think a useful little thing to add on B.net, (but take in mind wouldn't it really requires the forum "host's" cooperation? (by "host" I mean the "Ideal Science" thing)) would be for every reply, it has some sort of small reference as to which post it's replying. Just for those cases when a thread is really getting flooded and once you finish your reply, there's about 3 replies between yours and the post you replied to, and then everyone gets confused and starts flaming.

 •
Posted by: Stalking Puma and you can't quote if your replying from another post.
Use cut and paste, like I did.
Posted by: REprpEzekiel You are doing it just the right way.
That I am. I used 2 separate quotes in one post. It takes an extra second or two but it looks better and less for others to read.

 • I find that when people do the endless quoting of quotes, it generates spam, There'll be someone quoting 7 quotes and saying one word in responce. and you can't quote if your replying from another post. [Edited on 8/11/2004 3:18:16 PM]

 • Exactly! But that is basically my point. There are so many people out there that, if they quote, include every bit of information. That is the point where it gets tricky. It's the old problem with people having a lack of dedication to the English language and missing sense of propriety, or with them being plain lazy. It just doesn't work with such an abundance of members. It is less of a problem in smaller forums. You are doing it just the right way.

 •
Posted by: REprpEzekiel This applies to the people who quote another quote that has been also quoted, etc.
You edit out what you aren't replying to, just like I did.

 • Unfortunately quoting is abused by people. There is times when you can't follow the initial statement because of too much quoted information. This applies to the people who quote another quote that has been also quoted, etc.
