Bungie's Ban List

Now I am not going to start a huge fight over whether boosting is right or wrong. I am just going to say that since halo reach first came out it seems as though Bungie ban list and limits on things in their game has drove most of their population away. I am not going to say I haven't boosted because I have and if I get banned then that is fine I just wanted to state some facts. The first thing that Bungie did that I think drove away their players was the ban for resetting challenges and accommodations I am not going to say that this was right because it is not but Bungie should have just banned the accounts from gaining exp. for a period of time instead of resetting everyone. Although, I never did this and was not affected it still sucks for the people it did affect. The second thing that I think bungie did that drove away their community was the credit cap limit per day. I am not trying to start a fight on this subject either I am simply stating that maybe they should increase your cap limit as your level increases. This would make game play for some longer and possibly bring back some of the people that bungie lost. The third thing I think that Bungie did that drove their community away was banning certain types of full party boosting. I am not going to lie I have done this before it became bannable, but I am not trying to rant on about it I just want to say I did not see how this was hurting other people because it did not affect others game play. I am not going to just rag on bungie for all of these mistakes because the players should have known better but I am simply saying that the bans that are put into effect for these things should be a little less severe and more people would come back to playing halo reach. I am also not saying reach is a bad game and I am going to COD because I love halo in my opinion it is one of the best games ever created but like others some people just don't have the time to play as much as others. This is why I full party boosted before it was bannable it was quick and easy credits and I was able to finally start buying good stuff out of the armory. I also wanted to let bungie know that another thing that could be done to bring more of their community back to halo reach is lower the price on some of the stuff in the armory or have 1 or 2 days a year where everything is half off. I know most people are going to say that this is a noobish idea but maybe it would attract more players to halo reach. Anyway I am not trying to take sides on one thing or the other I am simply just stating ways bungie could get their community back and for halo reach to have the community it so deserves because it is one hell of an excellent game. • I agree. I barely get to play and I will admit I boosted before and was BANNED for it. I was doing it with my friends and our guest but me and my friends were trying to kill each other but we also killed the guest ,which apparently got us all banned. I think it may be a wuss way to play but I agrree. People are moving from Halo to Black Ops because they are tired of not having enough time to play REACH and that is why people boost. I personally was mad that i got banned and was thinking I will never by a Bungie game again because I think its not fair to some people.

Your grossly over-inflated stats (from killing avatars rather than players) reduce the integrity of the system. Play the game the way it's meant to and guess what - you won't get banned AND you can actually have meaningful data in your profile. /more food for thought
Posted by: ZOMBIE STOMP 8 I am killing avatars you answered the question idiot I am not affecting others by killing avatars so why is it bannable. • Any game with a global stat site or leader board needs to make sure the entries on it are legitimate. I look at your stats and immediately think something about your style of play or skill. These stats are not real because you line up mannequins and shoot them down. If you want to do something cool for videos or to feel better because you can shoot a non moving opponent, go do it in custom games where the stats don't count. You're cheating the leader boards.
Posted by: ZOMBIE STOMP 8 How am I cheating when I am not affecting others I am just killing guests answer that one
• BAN ALL IDIOTS! Is FINE w/me...and hope they NEVER come back! This includes: boosters, modders, quitters, cheaters, AFK'ers, betrayers, hackers, cR pharmers and anyone else that can't seem to PLAY CORRECTLY. And if there are 100 people left that really want to play RIGHT, SO BE IT...good riddens to all the GARBAGE! Bungie has got it's cash and doesn't really care if you leave/come back, they wan't the Bungie population to be QUALITY, not QUANTITY. [Edited on 12.09.2010 8:18 AM PST]

 • I did not say one time that reach would die I just said it would bring back the community that they lost. In my case I full party boosted and yes I did earn credits but I did not affect anybody else's gameplay with my actions.

 • Who cares if the population is low? I can STILL find games with no trouble at all. And I think that either Ferrex or Urk, can't remember which, had said that the majority of that first 15,000 banned players didn't actually quit playing. So, I think there are SOME who have no doubt stopped playing Reach because they were banned, but Reach isn't going to die as most people put it.

 • I reject your reality and substitute my own. In short, Reach's Population is fine. You dont see kids burning their disks in the street becuase they got banned, because there is a credit cap, or becuase they can't full party boost. They do what all prople that enjoy reach do - wait until they can play again, and then pick up the controller. Bungie has to do much of this becuase it is a social experience that drive the whole thing. If there was absolutley no accountability within Reach, the boosters would go nuts, ranks like inherior would be more commonplace than recuit, and Reach would surely die.

 • that is long post for having so many things that you're NOT trying to say... judging from the number of people currently in mp, i'd say the community is doing just fine. those that are banned or driven away will not be missed.
