Why do you think The Rookie doesn't talk? Be creative.
Does he have PTVD caused by some horrifying experience in battle or even something involving family deaths? Or do you think he just prefers not to talk? If so, then why does he prefer not to talk? Anti-Social? Let's hear some possibilities. Be creative.

The rookie is actually the Arbiter, who upon reaching the Earth with Srgt. Johnson devoted his life to be an ODST! He was shocked to find out though that this would not coincide with the time line where he was at the GAS Giant near the destroyed HALO! And that is why he knocked out!
