Reach's population over time: the stats (charts included)

Two weeks ago I thought it would be interesting to record the 24-hour population of Halo Reach once a day, so that I could eventually chart it to see trends over time and to see how other events like game releases, game updates, weekends and holidays affect population numbers. Now that some time has passed, I've decided to post the population data for everyone to see. This data is recorded automatically every night at midnight PST. As of the time of this writing, there's population data for 18 days. Here it is.   • bearing in mind Halo:Reach affected by october release, Alot of people will be recieving this for christmas. Include the population flare for new DLC maps in my eyes projections could amplify the population of reach ABOVE the 1.1 million mark week-days & 1.8/2 million on weekends/Holidays :)

  • Sure BO may have put a slight dent but there was sure a huge gap in the BO population within 2 weeks. (3.5 million now to 900,000 to 1,000,000 a day) I guess a lot of people didn't find the game as exciting as they expected, but of course it was at the time of its release. But really, really look forward to Nov. 30th. I would like to at least see 200,000. >_> not that it matters too much.

When I work someone's shields down a bit from behind and they turn and we melee each other at the same time, we're at even footing. Next melee kills. Depending on factors like any lag and such, it's a 50/50 on who will win. Whoever was taking damage should already be dead. Melee is next to useless if you aren't behind the person when you melee. And you don't always want to do the assassination animation because it leaves you vulnerable.

  • You should also include how its number 3 on the most played xbox live game. Reach is a fail and is losing players players way more faster then halo 3 or halo 2. Also a 1 year old game has a larger population then Reach. (Mw2) Nuff said.

I love Halo: Reach, but even when New Vegas came out I started only playing it every few days. It makes data trends harder to pick out. :)[/quote] The reason I did that was just in case the population went way up. But otherwise, I agree.
