Limited Revives?

i like that you added Arena to the portal, but Limited Revives on matchmade activities is a big let down. can you please remove or replace it. Limited Revives has its place in Destiny 2, but it shouldnt be applied everywhere.

  • bungie keeps going down , star wars didnt do it . and whoever sits around and makes the calls on timers and revives really needs to find another line of work. its not helping the game in any stretch of the imagination. lm sorry but its laughable .

    Limited revives need to honestly just leave 99% of the game activities. I was stoked for arena ops but then I saw limited revives and I haven't even engaged with it. I do not understand this team bro I swear. Arena ops should be a turn your brain off mode with other guardians and just chill. It doesn't need to feel like a contest mode raid/dungeon. And I'm already 550 so I don't need to level anymore. I don't mind sweating my -blam!- off in conquests or content like that but come on bro it doesn't need to feel like that everywhere.

    • i have literally not been able to do a matchmade arena ops, contest of elders, onslaught, or the coil. i have to do it with clanmates. if they arent on, i cant do them. and even when i do get good teamates, you get instances like in ketchcrash when a tripmine spawned on a cap point and one shot the entire team and wiped us returning us to orbit. Either remove tokens, or remove the return to orbit function like this is getting annoying.

    • As far as PVE, Raids, Dungeons and Exotic quests go, if they did away with limited revives and timers everywhere in the game I would not miss it in the least. If anything, make it an option if you want higher or lower difficulty.

      • Yeah its a pain for sure, especially when you get those times you join into an activity and there's no revives left so you can't spawn in the first bloody place like what the -blam!- are you supposed to do? That and let's be real its forced artificial difficulty that should be something people can add as a modifier for that extra challenge and not made mandatory, it's just tedium. But hey the streamers wanted 'more challenge' so I guess that’s one way of doing it.

        • And Bungle is always posting about how they're listening to our feedback and trying to figure out how to boost player numbers. We say we hate limited revives and timers and they respond by adding more.

        • It is because Bungo doesn't want anyone to have fun within the game, why they can't give us activity rewards at our levels and then let the elite crank it up to max and let them gain extra rewards. I was playing Vanguard Ops this morning and with all the crap thrown it seeing how many players quit or we failed them was crazy. BUNGO learn the meaning of FUN because you have seriously forgotten it is why most of us play games.

        • Strangely in EoF(***ed-up) I did not worry about even on ultimate (at least in solo and fireteam activities) but dang I ran one round of Reclaim-Cabals Watch it turned into a dang near disaster, mainly because non of us obviously had decent builds on. I thought I had a good PR + HC setup (using the new PR and Sunshot) armor was still my EoF armor and danggggg - finished with 1 revive left but came down to 1 person left standing in the first 2 locations. I had solar resistance and not void on and uhmmmmmm. [b]For solo activities - NO REVIVE LIMITATIONS SHOULD EXIST NOT EVEN IN ULTIMATE UNLESS WE CHOOSE IT AS A MOD AND WE SHOULD NOT REQUIRE IT FOR TOP RATINGS!!![/b] This is why I hate the portal - well one major reason!

        • Agreed. And if you join an activity in progress and spawn in the wrong place, you’re dead before you start… or find your team mates have already used up the revives.

        • Limited revives being required in any activities is kinda pointless other than maybe the conquests or master raids and dungeons. They could do away with the idea altogether and there would probably be no negative impact. I’m sure there are people out there though that are gonna say “I quit raiding because I could get revived too much.”

          • I honestly do not understand the reasoning behind limited revives. Since it has been in game average players have been saying it needs to go. It serves no purpose! If the content is hard enough that average players run out of revives, we stop playing. Loose, loose for everyone. If content is trivial enough that average players can complete it without running out of revives, they serve zero purpose. Limited revives serve only to make the hardest modes that little bit harder. But they can absolutely wreck content for average players if content is not tuned and balanced correctly. Bungie: "we are listening to you" But players do not like limited revives or no healing in activities, or both of these together. I do not care about how many mechanics are put into activities that will allow you to heal, things to shoot, enemies that drop healing, things that add revives. If it takes all that stuff to balance the content so players can get through it without ending up dead, then just give us our regular heals back. None of those things make the game MORE fun, or MORE enjoyable, or MORE engaging. Just more aggravating to deal with. They do not ADD meaningfully to the game. Some ideas are NOT good, even if implemented well. They do not add value, but take resources to design and program, $$$$$. All while not taking our healing away eliminates the extra cost and is super intuitive.

            Made it all the way to the end of ketchcrash, ended up Halo Reach Lone wolfing, and made my last stand. The enemy literally exhausted me of ammunition and abilities, surrounded and cornered me, and killed me, but I brought quite a few down with me. It was “Objective: Survive” word for word 😭 Well, I got the “Don’t you know I’M STILL STANDING” destiny moment I wanted lol [spoiler]wait, does that mean I can uninstall d2 now?[/spoiler]

          • Yup. Turned game off. Games are supposed to be fun and rewarding, with challeges IF you choose. Because of the modifier, my core game enjoyment is now dicatated by old potatoes like myself, and somones 7 year old little brother... 10K hours and every expansion till this last one. I liked the new stuff until I went into a normal arena, team wipe. No rage quit, just a bummer. I thought tuere was ALOT of feedback about this modifier in the past.

          • Just tried Ketchcrash with grounded modifier and half of the team got sniped from the air while jumping from the first cannon lol.

            This is especially infuriating when it seems nobody has realised they have a new artifact now, none of their loadouts work for champs, and at level 500+ they are automatically at Ultimate and need to be prepared. I have spent a lot of time being one of the last people standing in a six-man trying to figure out of I can just go to orbit since the level 9-10s I was with didn't come at all prepared, and I can't get them up. It's a frustration and if Bungie were going to introduce limited revives, maybe they could have waited a week or two until we have our gear and loadouts up to scratch.

          • This is all true. The problem with this, by the time Bungie deploys a “fix” no one will be playing this season anymore. They can’t make anything that helps the player base quickly. Always has been this way and is even worse now.

          • First time doing the first tutorial thing for spider and the arena bugs out and had to quit out...and that to a problem I had with the text boxes skipping dialogue with no way to reread anything... In not having an ideal experience so far...

          • It's to encourage "getting gud" And to keep the bots out and macro farming one of the reasons the matchmaking is off on a lot of things it only takes a few to ruin it for everyone...but most importantly revive tokens are dumb...
