Why do "casuals" want higher tier loot when they literally have no interest in builds, dungeons or raid mechanics? There is a trend where casuals complain that the game is too difficult when all they have to do is take 5 mins time to watch a guide, to google a build or ask in the lfg discord for a raid sherpa. If thats too much effort then they're not even casual. On the other hand: If a hobby is too time consuming or too expensive you look for a different hobby. We all want to collect expensive cars or have sunday brunch on the moon, but we know our limits and make ourselfs happy with things we can afford (timewise or other).

If there is no path for casuals to earn the higher tier gear even if it is a little harder then they'll leave and stop playing. The high tier gear isn't even locked behind a skill gate its just a boring grind gate and anyone who thinks a grind gate is better than a skill gate is delusional. The grinding required is so artifical its laughable. You gain zero actual power because there is brackets to ensure you are always underlevel to get a modicum of progress, and the difference in difficulties seems to be the addition of... champions... WOW what a crazy difference.

  • No where have I complained about the difficulty nor the fact that at the “Normal” setting we are at a permanent -10 deficit. My primary issue with things as they are, is the catering to a small percentage of elite players (even though 70% of teams are guilty of cheating recently) while the more casual player base is more and more ostracized behind specific requirements that they may not have the time to grind for. I dont know about you but I dont have the luxury of being able to play for 20+ hours a day 7 days a week and make a paycheck out of it.

  • Thats what Im saying: You dont need to "play for 20+ hours a day 7 days a week" if you just take 5 mins out of your day to gain some knowledge. Without some knowledge you die 20+ times in a simple strike, die before a champion is stunned (in slightly higher difficulty activities) and be fast and effective in raids or other activities to get that sweet loot you want. I play for 7+ yrs now and can say that more and more ppl rather complain than actual follow some advise the veterans/engame players give. Ppl coming from Mobile games who think that 2 clicks get them the loot they want. Ppl feel easily offended now (either here in the forums, social media or elsewhere) when they dont like the answer to their question (or statement: Casuals not welcome here). Cant help ya but if you already made your decision.

  • Just so you’re aware, it sounds like you’re heavily confusing New Lights with Casuals. As Casuals at least, as you said, learn the mechanics and make the attempt. But for many, especially those in my line of work who may not even get a weekend or holiday, we dont have the luxury of free time to gind for several hours in hopes of getting to the required level to make an attempt for end game content. And with elitist gate keepers being catered to for “content” it just makes any such attempts that much harder.

  • You all believe you need saltagreppo's vault to finish a normal raid 😂 All normal raid weapons have been either A weapon type (linears and I mean any linear) Or just one exotic. Usually earned in either red war or any other expansion that doesn't involve raids or dungeons. Just think about it. You can do 2 hours a week and be fine

  • Would any random raid team actually accept you with that loadout? Or just the people who carry you?

  • Because that is the optimal loadout. I lfged often back in the day Requirement to join - do decent dps Linear in the season with particle recon Merciless is always good for things like Taniks in DSC Witherhoard rocket is good for things like rhulk, nobody complains

  • That still falls into the “Must have this to join” Category. Granted those are at least Seasonal exotics and get be acquired at the wall in the tower.

  • Honestly most teams don't want to do 5 dps phases due to enrage or room for error. That being said, once you get into master raids, you need like high meta builds. Normal raid? Nah. Usually one exotic just carries the entire encounter and its usually one that is easily obtainable by anyone. So yeah it isn't hard kept. The reason its a requirement in general is just...math I guess 🤷. If 6 people do even dps, you will usually just one phase a boss. But not all classes are made equal

  • “Not all classes made equal” This is especially true when Bungie nerfs almost all the abilities of Warlocks and Hunters.

  • Tbf a T-crash titan will usually do most dps on top of chosen dps crutch. Honestly for normal raids you just...pick 1 heavy to do dps and you're done. Easy one or 2 phase. Just compile the team of what feels right for the moment I guess. Besides, warlocks being on well duty or song of flame will be enough to cover healing and dps weapon wise. Raids aren't as hardcore as D1. Of course SE is a raid I may attempt when I am more confident. Desert perpetual is alright. Contest scared most but it wasn't too bad

  • Thing that I really really hate though is that… Im a Hunter main. So constant tether and ad duty. Its just a long winded strike and as Ive said earlier if you dont know the mechanics well enough 97% of Raiders even in LFG will kick you for someone else.

  • Depends, as someone who ran semi sherpas, me and my buddy always asked if someone doesn't know or need a refresher. KWTD posts yes. But as long as you are transparent it isn't an issue. I usually kicked the people that aren't. Simply because I asked 5 times if people understand, if so, I trust that, if not, tell me. I will know then why things are going wrong and might allocate different jobs to what is needed instead of brute forcing an encounter. Some people are supreme at add clear, while others just aren't. Vice versa as well The guys that are honest dont get the boot from me

  • Well that would classify you in the 3% wouldnt it…..if you’re being honest anyways.

  • I am being honest. My friend follows RR like a bible and I called him special needs for it. RR just shows the clears and doesn't define understanding of mechanics or what Job you did. Honestly I just stopped looking because guys with 20 clears on LW didnt even know how to do queenswalk. They said they knew but results said otherwise. So yeah, I dont give a boot to someone who honestly tells me they don't know. Because being add clear 20 times doesn't make you a master

Why would I want to be anywhere else? Its nice and cool in the summer, cozy in the winter. The neigbours leave me alone coz they think Im not home and its soundproof. You should try it someday. :)
