What happened to the days where you actually have to play the activity in order to obtain the loot? You people complain about ‘how hard’ the exotic mission was and “oh I can’t find a fireteam I only play solo”.
After all the complaining, you then get Xur. Then the community still complains and now they are available for FOTL. What about the players like myself who actually played the exotic mission with a fireteam and rightfully earned the exotic class item. I feel cheated to the mass extent.
The exotic class item belongs in the exotic mission. Enough of these “freebies” for lower skilled players.
To the low skilled players who only play “solo”, If you are not fit to earn the loot, you simply do not deserve it. Plain and simple.
Edit - most of the players commenting have not touched the dual destiny mission ONCE. Proves my point that low skilled players will always be in Bungie’s favor.

2 RepliesEdited by OG (117): 10/30/2024 4:49:47 PMMost of us played the exotic mission months before now, and have had these exotics for awhile, get over it and let players enjoy themselves, stop crying and gatekeeping.

1 ReplyI’ll respond only because the “edit”. I am a low skill and solo player for the most part and I’ve only done the mission once per character because some friends asked me to unlock that thing that you seem to care so much. I’ve also spent quite some time farming that thing by opening chests. Idk why I am not offended by the fact that there is alternatives to obtain that thing. May be it’s just a game ultimately and let players have fun is all? It just can’t be that serious of a thing.

Does it hurt you when other people get loot? Genuinely.

Edited by JazzyPaladin477: 10/30/2024 9:05:09 PMRemember when you couldn’t even earn the best exotics and they dropped from random activities, crucible matches and on patrol? Those were the days!

Seems like an absolutely stupid hill to die on. 🤡
-
Solo does not equal low skill. Destiny has done this time and again. Get over it.
-
It didn't really require that much high skill to do the mission and they're already flying out the door so there's no reason to try to stop it now. It should be just as acceptable to make fun of the people that are now mad about them being "given away" as it was to make fun of the people that did whatever that was when the mission first dropped.
-
I haven't seen any complaints other than ones from people like you, in fact ive seen a tonne of thankyou/appreciation posts for the class item being available to everyone, not seen anyone complaining about the lack of attunement either, very strange hill to die on indeed. Also its strange how this low skilled solo player right here has very similar stats to an experienced player like yourself...
-
Solo players ≠ low skill That’s kinda just absurd. I do think there are some things that you should have to work with other players to get, but also I think the solo player population is high enough that there should be options available for those players. And just because someone prefers to play alone doesn’t mean they are bad at the game.

They didnt complain, they quit. This is bungies lame attempt at keeping the game alive by trying to bring people back. It didnt work, numbers went down, not up.
-
I played the exotic mission too, I even went out of my way to help people complete it for their first time. And now Bungie just let's people get the class items without even doing the mission? That's awesome. I dont feel cheated I feel glad that anyone can get the class items. I help out "lower skilled players" a lot whether it's raids, helping out with lost sectors or helping them finally kill calus. If I see them with the class item I'm not going to immediately wonder if they "earned it" or bought it, I'm going to think "oh cool, that will help us out a bit". Why would you want your teammates to not have the best gear they can get? Is it elitism or are you jealous that someone bought a roll better than the one you grinded for? Don't make it out to be that they're not worthy of the class items because they didn't "work for it" because I know for a fact you took advantage of the double loot cheese and the bomb dupe cheese in vespers host. Time to grow up buddy.

You repeated mention of low skilled players provides enough insight to paint a pretty picture of a person in need of mental help.

In the case of Dungeon, Raid, Trials, and other hard earned, exclusive loot, I agree that if you don’t play the content you shouldn’t get it. The Exotic Class items and Prismatic were a HUGE focus of the marketing for TFS, so for players to buy the expansion and then be told they’d be missing out on something that had been dangled in front of them but not specified as “co-op mission exclusive”… that sucks. Personally, I don’t care. Not fond enough of Prismatic in PvE and the subjective opinion that the Exotic Class Items are butt-ugly and can’t transmog doesn’t make me really want them. In any case, the players who earned them the intended way get to farm specific perk rolls, everyone else is fully at the mercy of RNG. It’s fine.

1 ReplyIt seems weird to place a value on what you have, according to what other people have.
-
Not any different when Bungie sells an ornament for silver only to sell it for bright dust later on.
-
At this point who cares. We had that grind for months and it's not like a "broken piece of gear" Let them enjoy it.
-
Agreed 👍
-
Doesn't affect me at all, so I could care less how someone else got the item. At least there still is a reason to do the mission, which is a great compromise in my opinion. It's a fun mission and would be terrible if you couldn't find anyone to run it with later. Not to mention it appears to be once-a-year type of thing, so anyone who misses out will simply have to wait another year or run the mission as normal. That's not a bad thing at all, in fact we can clearly see that Bungie is actually listening to the community. The only real downside is that it does set a precedent for complaining hard enough, but at least they are listening.

2 RepliesElitist nonsense.

My favourite…. Elitist tears :)

All you had to do is get to level 50 it wasn’t hard to get.
-
6 months later my guy. I did the mission and I’m happy for those who bought FS that they can farm class items. This simple content they can grind to get rolls. I agreed with Bungie refusing to offer it as a lay up. At this point we are halfway to the next expansion.

To the low skilled players who only play “solo”, If you are not fit to earn the loot, you simply do not deserve it. Plain and simple.
You got to play with the fun class items months before the solo kids and have been able to spend additional months farming. Let them have some fun too...

2 RepliesI played dual destiny, and I'm happy people can get it now without it. Why do you feel cheated? Why does it make any difference to you at all? Do you not like dual destiny?

1 ReplyThe worst players I have encountered couldn't get through a Vanguard Ops strike without help, but they had no problems communicating Social Skills does not equate to game skills
-
2 RepliesLow skill isnt the same as soloplaying - indeed the very worst players Ive ever encountered did nothing but hold hands in Destiny 2 and could barely complete a strike without support. The reason why this was an issue is the COMBINATION of the following: a. They are the only way to get Exotic Class items. b. Theyre too important to the DLC and to buildcrafting to just be safely ignored (at least for several of the Classes) - as happens with other Exotics. c. Nothing else in the game besides 6 man Raids - the most unpopular Destiny 2 activity by a margin - both cannot be done solo AND has no matchmaking. This was unprecedented to mandate two miced up players. d. A LOT of players want to and have the preference for soloplaying, to "enjoy the game" solo as the product description has always said. e. They lost a truckload of players - including many predominately soloplaying players. That's why they uniquely had to change this. Nothing to do with handouts. Nothing to do with low skill. Nothing to do with the goodness of their hearts. Everything to do with Bungie getting it wrong here.
