Less a story idea and more a character idea, but I've been cooking this one lately. She's a former mercenary, one of the best pilots in the world during the September War. Technically, she's a freelancer. Realistically, she almost always worked for the CLA. Near the end of the war, the CLA is scattered. She's shot down. Her mech was linked to her nervous system, so her brain was fried with the CPU. She went berserk on her rescuers. After being restrained, she was given an emotional inhibitor that prevents her from ever feeling the fight instinct. She's lost literally everything she once was and now has to work for the people who hate her guts for what she did during the war. Her role would basically just be support. She's there to give advice and be a liaison between former CLA groups. She's doing all this in the hopes they can get the damage fixed and to reconnect with the other CLA survivors. She'd be working for some SRW style crossover group who are just trying to keep the peace and recruit anyone who could be even remotely useful.
