Objectively, Into the Light is an event that uses recycled material for the Onslaught activity from various: seasons, seasonal activity, raid mechanics, strike mechanics, and playlist activities. On top of that, the loot is recycled weapons. On top of that, we didn't even get one new weapon. On top of that, the Onslaught locations are ALSO recycled locations. On top of that, the Whisper mission is practically also the same as before.
Onslaught, if it is not legend, it's boring, and it actually serves as just another bounty completing activity.
So besides, Legendary Onslaught, which it still uses recycled material, and the loot it gives is recycled weapons; what exactly did the devs make that isn't half-baked recycled content? And that it's fun?
If you're going to use recycled materials anyway, why not do so bringing back actual content that can't be experienced again/now? Like, Mars (escalation protocol especially), or Venus, or even The reef? No, of course, yall take Midtown, a "redesigned" pvp map, Mothyards, a cosmodrome open world location, and vostok/felwinter's peak, ALSO, a "redesigned" pvp map. Couldn't even give us the Red War last city locations, like they did to Neptune... and what about the tower... let's not even talk about it.

It’s supposed to be a free update to buy time on the FS delay; did you expect Bungie to produce and release an entire dlc centered on some random moon, with a new weapon type and subclass in less than 3 months for free? Honestly, all you do is gripe on the forums, instead of acting more melodramatic and ungrateful than a 80’s stereotyped teenager, and try to enjoy things as they are.
