Can't you have 10000 people with the same name? (0000-9999)

The game token I had was on ps4 and that was 6 years ago when I fixed it the 1st time. Now when I decide to play on this ps5, your system decided to change my name again on its own. It gives me a message saying I can only change 1 time but I feel like that is ridiculous because I never told your system to do any changes. It should’ve been an easy move from the ps4 to ps5 seeing how it’s the same account, just on a newer system. I truly feel you are able and capable of fixing the issue. I see no reason why you all wouldn’t have some type of way to backdoor into your own game to fix a problem. With all the coding you all do, I’m sure you can go into my account and either give me a token since it’s your system’s fault for making the change in the 1st place or simply change my gamer name back to what it had been for the past 6 years of my playing Destiny 2 yourself. This is majorly frustrating.

[quote] Errors may arise if your name is taken[/quote] If you don't mind me asking - why would this be an issue? duplicate names have existed since Bungie Names were implemented and the first token granted, unless a recent change has now stopped the numbers after a name being changed in the case of a conflict I can't really see why this would be a problem
