People would hold on to their super and it wouldnt be fair with raid encounters.

Nooo!!! We can't have cool things in D2. People whine to much about things being overpowered. I would love to see self res return, but that's because I don't complain about space magic in a game that revolves around space magic. If they added self res to the new solar warlock super coming in TFS and completely got rid of well of radiance honestly, this would be great. Most of the exploits that people used self res for in D1 I don't even think you can do in D2 because of how encounter mechanics work now. Idk. I don't think self res would be an issue at all. That's just me though.

To further nerf this, make it so that you’re forced to a specific super, like Dawnblade, so that you can’t use Self Res in conjunction with Well, or any number of other GOOD supers. If you don’t want to lock it to a specific super, just make it so that you can’t use your Super Ability. Furthermore, make it so that it has the longest recharge rate of any super within the game EVER. I will say that making it use a Revive Token is just to expensive for a super, as what would be the point of using it in the first place. You could just wait for a revive, especially since upon self revival, you would be surrounded by combatants, and if we were to use the nerfs you suggested, you would have no abilities to quickly get rid of said combatants.

It was a cool concept though. I could see them add the ability to revive teammates on cast of the new warlock super though, which could be a cool reference to the old D2 super.

Mabye it could be balanced in the way that after you res you will be vulnerable for a while. They could make it that you can’t shoot or use abilities for a few seconds, not too long though but instead gone greatly boosted movement for repositioning ( movement speed increase +bakris like dash for a single use) and some dmg resist. This will reward a strategic pop that is well timed but if you panic pop it you will just be killed.
