Isn’t it funny?
All these fire posts seem to have ‘sparked’ a small resurgence of activity.
Anyway, state testing is awful, doesn’t really measure intelligence but just how well someone can answer questions.
Also, starting with my graduating class, they’ve removed Valedictorian and Salutatorian from existence which, coming from a nerd, is really stupid. That’s the one time nerds and smart people can be recognized but nope. Guess not. This is not the way to be inclusive, the whole point is to focus on one or two people, not the top ten percent.

3 RepliesThe education system is designed to create good, conforming citizens, not thinkers. Public education (at least in America) used to use the Classical Model, but after the change in the 30s, it was changed into more of a programming institution.

I'm sick of people dumbing down society and standards to prop up the least common denominations of that society. Also- fund the -blam!- public schools, and center it around Academics. Most kids these days know who PewdiePie is but when shown a -blam!- Map, can't even point to the US. Teachers are quitting in droves because this generation is just brutally underprepared, and so many have the attention span of a tiktok short. A generation of teachers will never appear if it stays this bad. Pay the bills, America - pay the -blam!- bills.
