According to reports from other players, the issue seems to be a result of Turrets (and potentially other defenses) somehow being moved into the ADU’s defense circle and counting as enemy combatants within the zone and thus dealing damage.
Presumably there are certain weapons or abilities capable of nudging the Turrets into the circle and creating this scenario, although I have not personally done any testing to confirm possible culprits.

They're being moved by enemies. I saw a Hive Knight moving one by walking against it.

I’m guessing stasis crystals may be the #1 culprit. Or it could even be if the player themself hits it just right. I’ve noticed that the chests in the hall of champions move around if hit at a certain angle

It also seems tied to FPS. According to cheese forever, an FPS of at least 200 allows those chests to move a lot easier. Perhaps capping fps to 60 would prevent this issue from happening.
